The Bihu dance is a folk dance from the Indian state of Assam related to the festival of Bihu. This joyous dance is performed by both young men and women, and is characterized by brisk dance steps,and rapid hand movement. Dancers wear traditionally colorful Assamese clothing.

The Brokpa Lion Dance (Ache Lhamo) is unique to far eastern Bhutan. It is performed in honor of Goddess Penden Lhamo and Lady Jhomo. We only saw an abbreviated version of it since it can go on for as long as five days!

Bharatanatyam is a classical dance form originating in Tamil Nadu India.
The Natyam or dance is usually accompanied by the classical music. It has its inspirations from the sculptures of the ancient temple of Chidambaram.
To be a performer, a dancer has to pass series of tests which finally culminates in a show called arengetram or ranga pravesham. It is the introduction of that dancer to the world and her/his lisence to pass on the knowledge.
