Le musée d’Orsay est un musée national situé à Paris, sur la rive gauche de la Seine, dans le 7e arrondissement, aménagé dans l’ancienne gare d'Orsay (1898) et inauguré en 1986. Les collections du musée présentent la peinture et la sculpture occidentale de 1848 à 19142, ainsi que les arts décoratifs, la photographie et l’architecture.
Le musée possède la plus grande collection d'œuvres impressionnistes au monde et l'on peut y voir des chefs-d’œuvre de la peinture comme Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe et l’Olympia d'Édouard Manet, la Danseuse âgée de quatorze ans de Degas, L'Origine du monde, Un enterrement à Ornans, L'Atelier du peintre de Courbet ou encore cinq tableaux de la Série des Cathédrales de Rouen de Monet et Bal du moulin de la Galette de Renoir.
Le musée d’Orsay a ouvert ses portes le 9 décembre 1986. Afin de permettre sa reconversion en un musée des arts du xixe siècle, conformément à la volonté du précédent Président de la République Valéry Giscard d'Estaing qui avait lancé le projet, le bâtiment original de l’architecte Victor Laloux a été reconfiguré (1983-1986) par les architectes Renaud Bardon, Pierre Colboc et Jean-Paul Philippon (ACT Architecture), lauréats d'un concours d’architecture organisé en 1979, rejoints par l’architecte d’intérieur Gae Aulenti.

Photo d'il y a quelque jours. Pour le moment avec le plein soleil et nos 23°C (anormal pour un mois d'avril), les moutons ne sortent que tôt le matin ou le soir.
Photo of a few days ago. For the moment with the full sun and our 23 °C (abnormal for a month of April), the sheep are out only early in the morning or in the evening.
A good friend and SCUBA diving buddy of mine asked me to repair this paperback. She had been instrumental in organising the BSAC diving expedition on the 75th anniversary of D-Day to honour and remember those who had lost their lives on the numerous wrecks of the Normandy beaches.
The inside of the front cover had been signed by the dive team so it was important that they were not lost in the repair.
The bottom left image shows the original book.
The bottom middle shows the pages that had become detached.
The top left shows the book block reglued with recessed sunken cords to provide additional strength. The original front and rear covers now included in the block. New end papers were fitted and the book block given new covers.
The top right image shows the book's title put onto the spine.
The bottom right image shows a laser printed scanned copy of the original front cover in a recess for protection.
