D&H 415 is on the head end of a consist to lead a Northbound out of Oneonta, NY on August 9, 1980......except it didn't happen. I was excited when it appeared that this was going to lead, but then at the last moment the crew added D&H 409 to the head end. Since 409 was still in LV red, I was even happier than if the 415 had led. We chased it all the way to Richmondville Hill and then bailed because they met a Southbound which we then turned our attention to. The Southbound was led by D&H 7404, and to this day I still can't figure out why I did not stick with the 409 on the Northbound.

alla sommità del prato svettano i fiori del Tragopogon pratensis. Grandi margherite gialle, luminose: un invito irresistibile ai pronubi che il prato stesso sorvolano incessantemente. I piccoli sirfidi ne sono attratti e, ponendosi al loro livello di percezione visiva è facile capire perché. Una volta atterrati sui petali, infatti, si erge di fronte a loro una selva d'oro. Sono gli stami filamentosi della grande margherita, carichi di polline luminoso ..... ..

Così viene chiamata la bella parte del Canton Vaud che comprende i comuni di Château-d'Œx, Rougemont e Rossinière. In un contesto rurale tipico della zona, alle porte del paese di Rossinière, transita il PE 30 2230 (Montreux - Zweisimmen); in testa un'elettromotrice "Alpina" ed in coda la, di ben 30 anni più vecchia (entrata in servizio nel 1985, all'epoca ancora con le BDe 4/4 3000!), Ast 116.
