D&H 7418 leads a Westbound at the blade that stood East of Dalton, NY on May 6, 1979. The blade is long gone and so is the little wood deck bridge over the tracks at this location. The 7418 leads N&W 781 and D&H 408.

D&H 415 is on the head end of a consist to lead a Northbound out of Oneonta, NY on August 9, 1980......except it didn't happen. I was excited when it appeared that this was going to lead, but then at the last moment the crew added D&H 409 to the head end. Since 409 was still in LV red, I was even happier than if the 415 had led. We chased it all the way to Richmondville Hill and then bailed because they met a Southbound which we then turned our attention to. The Southbound was led by D&H 7404, and to this day I still can't figure out why I did not stick with the 409 on the Northbound.
