D&H 7315 sits along the shops at Oneonta, NY on August 12, 1978. The 7315 is an old friend, and I knew it as LV 315 when it was running through my hometown of Rush, NY. But that all came to an end on April 1, 1976, but at least I could still catch the ex LV GP38-2's and C-420's on the D&H in LV colors for a little while.

Comme Lewis et Elsa ont le même âge et la même énergie, j'ai été acheter toutes les cartes de promenades pédestres balisées de la région (il doit y en avoir presque une centaine !). Aujourd'hui nous en avons essayé une, dans la forêt d'Anlier. Une très belle promenade de 9 km (2h15) avec pas trop de VTT (ouf) ni joggers. Lewis est KO, Elsa aurait bien fait une seconde.
As Lewis and Elsa are the same age and the same energy, I went to buy all the maps with marked hiking paths in the region (there are around 100 of them). Today we tried one, in the Anlier forest. A very nice 9 km (5.6 miles) walk (2h15) with not too many mountain bikes (phew) or joggers. Lewis is knocked out, Elsa would probably have done a second one.

The Château d'Annecy is a restored castle which dominates the old French town of Annecy in the Haute-Savoie département. It was bought by the town, restored and transformed into a museum, le musée-château d'Annecy. The castle is listed as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.
The castle was built between the 12th and 16th centuries. It served as the residence of the Counts of Geneva and the Dukes of Genevois-Nemours. Several times the victim of fires, the castle was abandoned in the 17th century and later repaired to serve as a barracks until 1947. The town of Annecy acquired the castle in 1953, restored it with the help of Monuments historiques and installed a museum there.

Kasteel d’Oultremond, in de volksmond het ‘Roze Kasteel’ op het voormalige themapark Het Land van Ooit, gelegen tussen Drunen en Nieuwkuijk, werd omstreeks 1230 gebouwd en kreeg de naam Kasteel Steenenburgh. In 1795 is het kasteel deels afgebrand. De zuidelijke vleugel van het kasteel (15e-eeuws) is het best bewaard gebleven, en ook de poort zou nog van het vroegere kasteel afkomstig zijn. In de 18e en 19e eeuw is het kasteel met verschillende vleugels uitgebreid. In 1907 werd het kasteel eigendom van de graaf van Oultremont en kreeg het zijn huidige naam.
In 1989 werd het kasteel onderdeel van Het Land van Ooit. Het kasteel werd één van de blikvangers van het park. De oorspronkelijke bakstenen gevel werd geëgaliseerd en roze geverfd. In 2007 ging het themapark failliet en een jaar later kocht de gemeente Heusden het landgoed. De toekomstvisie is om het landgoed toegankelijk te maken voor publiek (wandelpaden en openbare gebouwen) in combinatie met zorgeloos wonen, werken en recreëren in een groene en landelijke omgeving.
In 2020 is het kasteel gerenoveerd. Daarbij is de roze verf in zijn geheel verwijderd.
