My new $80 pole saw snapped almost immediately. It's a Fiskars brand, and I usually love their stuff, but I'm going to have to return this flimsy thing to Home Depot. Very disappointed. The saw blade was stuck up in the tree, the pole with its broken tip down with me. It would have been very helpful to have it stick around for another 5 cuts or so.
I switched over to the chainsaw. Camille let me plug my electric in behind her couch in the living room. I had a new 100' extension cord, so I didn't dirty her nice, lightly colored rug.

Jon Shoe! playing at Le Pub in Newport. This was one of those shows that was turned from a negative into a positive in true Jon Shoe! punk rock style. A whole fleet of cars filled with the Exeter faithful had travelled up to see The Cut Ups support Glass and Ashes. When we got there, Jon said "Do you wanna hear something funny?.......Glass and Ashes have broken down." We were pretty gutted as Exeter to Newport is at least a two hour drive. In the end it turned into a great show, all of the members of Ok Pilot had come up, were persuaded to play with borrowed instruments, then The Cut Ups put in a great set, the room was brimming with Exeter pride by the end of the night.
