While Teddy's Steelers and TJ's Cowboys both played today, I spent my first ever Thanksgiving alone. Last Thanksgiving I had two beautiful smiles waiting to lick up any scraps from the kitchen. Today I had none. LIfe can really punch you in the chest. Be prepared if you can because it will hit you like a ton of bricks. I seriously missed these smiles today.
I'm still working on their tribute video, but hopefully you understand how hard it is. Give me some time, but I think it will be worth it.

I was spoiled by the light at my old apartment and will be flipping the living room arrangement tomorrow. Hopefully, that will make for better pics! :)

More of the dogs parked next to me in Cotati on Thursday. They knew where their owner had gone and were watching for her. Actually there were 8 dogs in the car...3 larger ones sitting quietly in the backseat. Somehow these fellows looked like they were on a movie set.

This was a serendipitous shot. He saw me lying down, trying to figure out the light for his birthday meal shot, and decided to hop in front of the camera and flash that unmatchable smile. Happy 14th birthday to TJ, the most loyal dog in the history of loyal dogs. :)

Christmas is gone and it's time to get back to what really matters...football. Teddy does not trust this year's version of the Steelers. We're alive for one more week, but this has not been a champion's season.

UPDATE: SURGERY IS DONE AND TEDDY'S AWAKE AND DOING WELL! :) ...BUT HE'S NOW TOOTHLESS.
Turns out the snot wasn't snot, it was puss. One of his rotten old teeth is sending that gunk up a nasal socket which kept him constantly sneezing and trying to blow it out. They have to put him under to pull the tooth then stitch up the hole into the nasal socket, otherwise he'll get food up there. He's 16, so I'm very apprehensive about the anasthetic. I chose this shot because he looks like he's having the sweetest dream ever. A dream of running through a field of meat-flowers and pizza-trees, surrounding a lake of milk. :)

2 months ago I would commute an hour to-then-from work everyday. Now, I live so close to work, I get to come home and see my boys everday for lunch!!! :) IT'S SO EASY BEING ME!!! :)

He has life to him - he makes a scene when I leave and has even been bullying Teddy, but he won't eat. He nibbles. He eats his treat (braunschweiger), but his meals amount to nothing more than a few shards of tuna or boiled chicken that will fit on your fingers and he loses interest. He made a tiny bit of waste today, but there was still blood. Also, he's become a master of manipulating his tongue so I can't even force his antibiotic down...he spits it out at me, smiles, and goes back to sleep. I'm desperate - tomorrow I'm buying a pound of ground beef and throwing it in the skillet, if he doesn't go for that...I don't know what I'll do.

The only significance of this shot is that this football is the only thing TJ has attached to, other than his buddy(the blue/white blob under the ball), in 15 years. So when I woke up this morning and saw his little paw slung over the football, it was hope that maybe that disgusting stuffed Buddy might be on his way out.
