he's SHOCKED! Shocked, i say! .... at his future selves' reading materials
(book made by @modernwizard from, i think, rude candy packaging)
vision is nearly finished(?)
i think i will make her neck more metallic though
HotToys alita battle angel body almost unmodded... with knockoff head painted purple metallic with flocked hair.
body is only painted (and slightly de-painted) at the neck and shoulders
imo this body with all its details is the best thing HT has ever done and the alita fig is honestly just about everything i ever wanted in a Purple Robot (a decade-long doll wish of mine)
(the human face alita head is also amazing and will become a separate biological person character)
finished this guy off today, but you can't see what I added from the last set of pictures haha,
he's got some smoke grenades now, a camelback, an admin panel with some new patches, chemlights, and now an M16 with an M203
overall I'm pretty happy with it, it's not 100% exact but it's pretty cool looking
my father, a fellow 1/6 scale collector/giant nerd, got me this figure for Christmas,
it's not just a marine, it's specifically supposed to be Aaron Eckhart's character in the upcoming movie battle los angeles, which pits the US Marines against a hostile alien invasion.
think black hawk down meets independence day, I personally can't wait
originally the figure was a soldier story Marine MSOB, but I swapped the original out for a hot toys true type with a dark knight Harvey dent figure's head, while his hair is way too long for him to be a marine, you can't see it anyway, and it looks just like him in the upcoming film
Poured last night well into this afternoon; therefore, my new location has been transformed into a venerable mud pit. This had to be done.
A custom made figure I bought from a seller on Etsy (TrashCompactor326382). Painted and weathered by me.
I made my VC Ponda slightly more screen accurate by replacing his head with the larger noggin that came with the POTF version.
This has been on the to-do list for ages so I'm finally giving it a shot. Going for a WETA style to the head, I want to chrome the Lego canopy as a fold-down face plate (still wondering if I should delete that canopy bit??). At the moment everything is unglued. There isn't going to be much articulation with this head/neck arrange; it'll be more of a statue than a true action figure. My skills are NOWHERE near good enough to do it properly. Money is scarce at the moment so I'm going to manage with what I already have.
I was very disappointed when Sideshow cancelled their 1/6 GI Joe line recently. So much potential going wanting. Anyway, we'll see if this turns into a big disaster or not!
i've added lip color, shading, EYEBROWS! and movie-accurate eye color (GREEN muajajaja)
may get her some actual octagonal glasses 3D printed eventually but these are ok for now. i just shaved the round edges off some mattel HP ones
new headband covered with washi tape because i found some that looked just like her headband in the movie.
also put not quite matching pockets onto her labcoat for fun (it was originally from the AvaStars vet doll so i had to replace the pet-themed logos on the pockets)
the rest of her explanations are here:

the stuff around her is from from OurGeneration and MyLifeAs science sets, and the book is barbie (it came with a teacher fashion)

Tami, Tabi & AnnaBelle - S21b TBLeague body, Kimi 005 head.
"So, no brewing moonshine ale in he kitchen!" moaned Dax.
"Hey, I don't make the rules, and I ain't crossing Joe, I like living above the Arms" replied Tabi.
Custom action figure modeled after character Frank Walker from the 2015 movie "Tomorrowland".
