I'm not quite sure why I stopped curling my hair. I used to do it at least once a week in high school. Maybe I'll start it back up again.
My hair holds curls crazy well. These curls were made 15 hours ago and they lasted through bounce houses.

Another shot of the lovely curling bark on the Madrone tree (Arbutus) right beside our Motor Home at La Conner Thousand Trails on Skagit Bay. (09-10-07-6600)
Another of those items that is just here and I don't remember where it came from... A bamboo skewer, probably from some take-out egg roll or something. Of course, I kept it, as it is perfect for skewering a few frozen cherries or grapes for a quick snack.

Willesden Folk Union, willesdenfolkunion.com/.
Country: United States - Appalachia. Style: Traditional American Folk - Old Time.
Lineup: Chance McCoy (v/fiddle/g/banjo), Luke Richardson (banjo), Ben Townsend (g/fiddle/v).
At the Barbican’s “Folk America” concert in 2009 Old Time Music was represented by four young musicians performing under the name Allison Williams & Chance McCoy. A year ago I saw two of them (Danny Knicely and Aimee Curl) again as part of Furnace Mountain. See: www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/sets/72157625173856292/. Then a few months ago, another (Allison Williams) in a duo with Rachel Eddy. See www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/sets/72157627121425808/. The fourth musician was Chance McCoy and here he was with Old Sledge. The band has a somewhat fluid membership, but it was a surprise to find that Sabra Guzman (the other key member with McCoy) wasn’t present despite being billed in the tour publicity. The lineup was Chance McCoy (from eastern West Virginia and now resident in Floyd, VA), his long time friend Ben Townsend (also from eastern West Virginia and still resident in the state) and new addition Luke Richardson (from central Tennessee and now in Brooklyn). Townsend mostly played guitar, while previously being featured on banjo in Old Sledge and fiddle in his other band, the Fox Hunt.

In the midst of our floods, the sun came out briefly. Shyla's wet fur showed the "curves" inherent in her Labrador fur.
