I wish I had real lemons to photograph with the jar of lemon curd instead of the lemon sherbets from the photo the other day, but I did not. Lemons are my favourite fruit. I like the colour (yellow is my favourite – I have three yellow bath-towels if you needed proof of this) and I like the sharp taste.
This is an old jar of lemon curd and every time I look in the fridge I think that I should throw it out, but I always end up forgetting. But I have thrown it out now. My problem with conserves and preserves and jams and things is that even if the whole family eats it, we take so long to get through a normal-sized jar that we either forget it or it goes off, but small jars tend to be too small and thus not economically sustainable. Which is why we never really have jam sandwiches. My brother used to eat jam straight from the jar.

I agree with him on this.
