coffeeneuring #41-d (wk 32): went to a "cupping" at Stumptown Coffee Roasters Annex on SE Belmont... tasted roasts from 5 different plantations ... (Stumptown employee showing how it's done) ... my favorite was from Rwanda
First sniff the roasted coffee beans. Then grind them up, add hot water, and smell the aroma. Then remove the excess grounds from the top of the liquid, take a spoonful of the liquid, and slurp it so that you taste it with all the different parts of your tongue.
70 cups of coffee tasted from 7 different lots on their farm. What an amazing cupping session. The only problem is that we started this at 7pm!!
