"Better Angels should have Prevailed"
Lately I've trying to wean myself off Crackbucks@, so I've been patronizing this local Italian joint for my hot joe addiction. There I was minding my own business, right! Finishing off what IMHO I think was a pretty decent cup of espresso when my coffee mate ruins everything...
"FFNN alert" she blurts already a little wired from her java, "Get the camera."
"Nooooo, I calmly respond, you see I know her devilish mind. "Don't you see this java afterglow? Leave me be, woman!"
"If you just point it at the door and shoot I'm buying, she squeals",
"Damn you I'm in." the woman had a point. Here Are the results.
In a effort not to add insult to injury I will let the next photo's and your comments "tell the tail" if you will. The caption on the last photo will explain "FFNN"
the cup and saucer are needle felted from corn silk fiber, while the beans, spoon and coffee are needle felted from wool.
i'm particularly proud of the "swirls" in the espresso, and how realistic the beans look. i kinda want to drink it!
Today, I went to Cup of Joe, one of the few coffee shops in Cedar Falls!!! This is something I don't often do. OK, I didn't have coffee. I had tea, served in a French press. I also had a lemon macaroon which was so crumbly a fork was supplied. And I initiated a brand new pocket-size Moleskine. I felt like a true Urban Sketcher! January 19, 2013
FGR invades You and your Coffee
Each morning, my husband makes me coffee with our fancy espresso machine. He puts whipped cream on top - it just makes it extra special and delicious. I am very lucky!
Basil got a lick of the foamy creaminess today!

Did a writeup today on the Carl Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 2/50 and it was once again picked up by Carl Zeiss - they do wonders for my blog with thousands and thousands of hits per post. Check it out ( raylarose.rm-r.me/?p=106 ) ! Nikon D700 + Carl Zeiss 50mm The journey is the reward. Please, no group invitations or badges.
I love Sundays. Always calm and relaxing, a nap is never to far out of reach. Another great thing about Sundays is HBO original programming. Year after year HBO has the best original series and I am not a "TV series" type of guy. It's a struggle sometimes to stay awake for 3 hours at the end of your relaxing Sunday but that isn't anything a nice warm cup of Joe or two won't fix!~
Does anyone else love HBO series like I do?

This collage was made entirely from magazine strips with a technique I call "painting with paper." I cut the paper into different shapes and layer them in such a way that they look almost like the brushstrokes in a painting.
