Thick like syrup. A little too strong, but still good. The first coffee service I've seen that looks like it came from Europe. The spoon has a gold like tint.

Apollo Cup
c. 480-470 BCE
Delphi Museum, Greece
White-ground kylix (two-handled wide drinking cup) with a beautiful image of the god Apollo holding his turtle-shell lyre and pouring out a libation (offering), probably wine. I'm not sure whether the bird is a crow or a raven, although my hunch is it's a raven, since that bird is usually known for its intelligence.

Some of my late Mother's coffee cup collection. I'll bet there's 500 cups at least.

Probably I should have cropped the photo so that the bowls with the blue dots become the main focus. However, I just wasn't in the mood for doing it ... mid-month crisis. ; )

Prior to the Queen's Coronation in 1953 thousands of Liverpool schoolchildren were given these cups by the City Council as a memento of the occasion . There's probably still thousands in circulation . This is the back view .
On my first day out with both the X-Pro1 and the 18mm f2 lens. I stopped for a cup of tea couldn't resist playing around a bit. So far I'm very pleased with both the camera and the lens.

The little town of Spiro, Oklahoma is home to the Spiro Mounds. Around the first millennia, this town of mound builder native Americans controlled over 1/3 of the United States. They traded with other cultures all over the Americas. An impressive place that lost its power and significance around 1250 AD. This is a fragment of a shell cup from around 1250, showing a dancer with painted or tattooed designs on his body.
