Art and science, two very different parts of the human experience, have deep links and have long complemented each other. Here, woven into a dense organic body of glass beads in red, orange, green, grey and yellow are a fish vertebrae(Osteology), an abacus-like creation(Mathematics), a pair of junebug wing covers(zoology), a piece of raw citrine(Geology)and a single Swarovski crystal(clarity).
The bracelet is clasped with an artisan lampwork bead(Art).
All of the metal is sterling silver and the bracelet is stitched with Fireline for durability.

Wanting a daily reminder and a little inspiration around my wrist that was not permanent like a tattoo I came up with this mantra cuff. It is my hope to share these with others seeking a little inspiration.

I cut the cuffs off and left the slit part as a detail. Strips of fabric from the side of the shirt used to make channels for the elastic.

Pen and ink on polymer clay, instruction from a tut by Alice Stroppel, bracelet with a wire armature from a tut by Donna Kato, bracelet lining adapted from the rock cuff tut by Melanie Muir - a lot of people helped with this bracelet into being :) (At risk of sounding like I am at the Oscars!) It was made on a blue and white Skinner blend, the blue for the sea, and the texture on the back was made with a 'texturing tool' from Bettina Welker :)
Beautiful "wavy" cuff I crocheted from a free pattern by Melissa "Missa" Hills. I absolutely love it. It has my favorite colors in the most amazing yarn -- Claudia Hand Painted Fingering in colorway John B. The colors are outrageous, just luminous in real life.
I followed the pattern, enlarging it by 5 ch to fit my wrist, and adding a crab stitch finishing to the edges.
This magnificent cuff bracelet is formed with copper and gold filled wire, and liberally laced with a fabulous and colorful array of beads made of Citrine, Amethyst, Moss Agate, Green Amethyst, Flourite, Rhiolite, Kyanite, Apetite, Green Opal, Rhodochrosite, Dyed Quartz, Pearl, Czech Glass Swarovski Crystal. It fits 6 ¼-7inch wrist and is available for sale at LandSGlory’s Etsy shop.
Holly Van Sciver teaches this cuff in her Beds classes. I regret that my cuff wil not have a twin. It was a very interesting exercise. The center flower, for example does not have six spokes in the center, nor eight. It has seven spokes, just to add interest to the endeavor. I think the thing that made me think the most was how to start it. (Hint: It began in the lower right hand corner).
