Jewellery was a big part of Elizabethan Tudor fashion, especially for those who were rich and important. It showed both their wealth and status. Jewellery was also used to convey political messages, display religious beliefs and to remind people of friends and relatives who have died. Jewellery in Tudor times was not widespread and is essentially worn by the upper classes and those who could afford such finery.

Tudor bracelets tended to be made out of silver or gold and decorated with precious stones. Strands of pearls could also be wrapped around the wrist. The Elizabethan cuff is reminiscent of bracelets of the era. A wide cuff - elaborate, luxurious and intricately woven. A central panel of bezelled large beads form a bold focal point to the cuff. Eminently suited to the delicate wrists of the Elizabethan Tudor lady of the upper classes.

i made this cuff for the challenge in Philippine Polymer Clay Guild:) The Theme was called the Pinoy Challenge. You have to use indigenous materials in your clay project. I used sinamay, fabric made from banana plant fibers which you can find in abundance in the Philippines. It is a very nice alternative to using metal cuffs as a base. It can withstand the temp of the oven. I even baked it twice and it didn't become brittle. It supported the weight of the clay because I also put clay at the back as a support:) i really enjoyed making this one!

Chinese dragons are legendary creatures in Chinese mythology and folklore. Dragons are typically portrayed as long, scaled, serpentine creatures with four legs. Traditionally they symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, hurricane, and floods. The dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck.

The 2-hole lentils standing on its end resembles the scales of the all-powerful dragon. Laid out in an inter-locking pattern this cuff is elegant and slinky while at the same time strong and sturdy just like the dragon.

This cuff was inspired by a comment I read about how you cannot wear silver and gold at the same time, so I thought I would do my best to prove that idea wrong! This consists of metallic gold, 24k bright gold plated and pale copper plated Delica beads.

This cuff was inspired by the Bead Art Originals color mosaic for January 31. I really like how the dots turned out!

Amoeba comes from the Greek word amoibe, means change. It’s a tiny, one-celled organism that moves by changing its shape.

Just like these one-celled organism, the Ripple beads shimmer and shine and appear to change its shape and color all on its own.

Woven on a simple base, the Ripple “amoeba” are embellished with glittering Swarovski lachrosen for that added shimmer. The clasps is hidden and making the cuff appear endless, with no beginning or end.
