Greensgrow Farm vegetarian share. Lots of radishes in the swap box, so we traded our turnips for some extras. How can people trade in radishes?!?
This is the drive side of the rear wheel of a CSA Autobike that showed up at our shop yesterday. The three weights on the wheel slide along the spokes, moving the shifting ring outwards as the wheel spins faster. The derailleur provides tension for the chain as well as the jockey spring needed to shift to a larger sprocket (slower speed) as you slow down. The crankset is also a freewheel, whicl allows the wheel mechanism to shift down while you're coasting. This is an ingenious mechanism.
This was the motherload that we've been waiting all season for. Clockwise, starting at bottom left:
- snow peas it looks like
- green beans
- romanette beans
- royal burgundy beans
- dragon tongue beans
- leeks
In the middle:
- mixed cherry tomatoes
- a variety of sweet peppers
- costata zucchini
- one cucumber
- patty pan squash
I'm excited. This is fun stuff to play with!
I've lost track of what week we are on. Usually happen this time of the year (and after I've missed a couple of pick ups). No time to make lunch, so I'll be eating lots of this on Saturday and Sunday.

CSA served up a great banquet of fajitas with all the accouterments. Based on the cheering and clapping, everyone had a great time.
