From Breezy Willow Farm - bread, tomatoes, apple butter, bell peppers, methley plums, peaches, nectarines, summer squash, red pontiac potatoes, and variegated corn.
Got an email from farmer Steve about this one, apologizing for the smallness of the shares - we've had so much rain this spring/summer that flooding and fungus has killed a lot of his vegetables. Sad. We did make a delicious soup from most of this haul, though :)
Today's noshes:
Pickling cukes* - most of these are already pickled, I am fast, for I loooove me a good pickle. The rest went into tabbouleh.

*These items are already melding away in the fridge as fresh tabbouleh.
Ok, the carrots aren't from the CSA delivery, but they add some nice color and crispiness. nom nom nom
Here's one week of our summer CSA share from Tune Farm. There are two kinds of basil, heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, apple cucumbers, okra, red potatoes, peppers, melon, fresh mint and flowers.

The start of the season means lots of greens! 2 bunches of kale, 1 bunch of bak choy, 1 head of lettuce, 1 Chinese cabbage, 1/2 dozen eggs, 1 bag of sauteeing greens, and a 1/2 pint of strawberries.
The CSA Welsh gathering 2014 took place at Flintshare CSA, Flintshire North Wales. Nestled in a gorgeous valley, CSA members camped at the projects Cilcain site for two days of talks, walks and delicious food.

They called this a pre-season box because there wasn't as much in it as there normally will be due to the strange weather this spring.
1/2 pint of blueberries, 2 ears of corn (purchased separately at .65 cents each), a bunch of leeks, 2 bunches of basil, 8 beets of 2 varieties (6 of the beets in trade for the hannabells cheese I don't like), a bunch of turnips, and 2 more bunches of kale.
