fava beans, baby purple onions, kale, bok choy, braising greens, spring mix and spinach
blogged Tell me, how do YOU eat fava beans?
Made with white baby eggplants and basil.
I misunderstood my wife's instructions: she said to dip the eggplant in egg, flour, and breadcrumbs. She meant *sequentially*, but I mixed the egg, flour, and breadcrumbs together and dipped the eggplant slices in that. It looked a bit funny, but still tasted good.
We're doing the Avalon Acres winter CSA again this year, and I have to say that the boxes have been pretty sparse so far. I know they were hit hard last winter with all of our crazy weather, but I'm not too impressed with what I get for about $30 a box (every two weeks).
I'm trying out a new farm-fresh service that lets you order weekly; there's no minimum order and no membership fee, you just pick up what you order each week. If this works out and is cost-effective, I think we might go with that instead of continuing on with the CSA each season.
What's Growing this Week:
onions
apples
potatoes
cauliflower
broccoli
mixed greens
lemons
mandarins
cabbage

Veggie soup, frittata, and a side of turnips and greens, pretty much all from our Turtle Bay CSA share.
Operated by CSA from 1974 until 1995. These tail colours where used for just a short while.
Airframe scrapped at Prague in 1995.
I signed up through my workplace to take part in a CSA (Community Sustained Agriculture) program with a local organic farm. I signed up for a half share, basically a paper grocery bag's worth of fresh-picked produce each week. This was week one.
It was my week to pickup & divide the veggies for our CSA group. This abundance of color on my island was so beautiful!
