One of my regrets about living in Washington state was not spending more time looking for Sasquatch.
This is 3'x3', acrylic paint on canvas. I'm liking the metallic silver. It's for the upcoming Paintpushers show. It has a monster theme.
Sasquatch, commonly known as Bigfoot, is a large, hairy, ape-like creature of North American folklore. It is a cryptid, meaning its existence is suggested but not scientifically confirmed, much like the Abominable Snowman or Yeti of the Himalayas. The name "Sasquatch" is an anglicization of the Halq'emeylem word *Sasq'ets*, meaning "wild man" or "hairy man," and is deeply rooted in the traditional beliefs of First Nations peoples in the Pacific Northwest. Stories of these "wild men" have been part of indigenous oral traditions for centuries, often describing them as beings with deeply rooted cultural significance.
Descriptions of Sasquatch are remarkably consistent among eyewitness accounts. The creature is typically described as a bipedal primate, standing on two feet, with a height ranging from six to fifteen feet tall. It is said to be covered in long, dark hair, with colors varying from black and dark brown to a reddish-brown hue. Common physical characteristics include broad shoulders, long arms that reportedly hang down to its knees, and a flat face with a receding forehead. Some accounts also mention a strong, foul odor and a range of vocalizations, from high-pitched cries and whistles to screams and growls.
The legend of Sasquatch has been fueled by numerous alleged sightings, footprint discoveries, and even purported photographic and video evidence. The most famous example is the Patterson-Gimlin film from 1967, which shows a large, bipedal figure striding through a clearing in northern California. While many people believe this footage is authentic, skeptics argue that it is a hoax, likely a person in a costume. Other forms of evidence, such as oversized footprints measuring up to 24 inches long, have also been widely reported. The creature is often said to be nonaggressive, but stories like the 1924 "Ape Canyon" incident, where prospectors claimed to have been attacked by rock-throwing "gorilla-men," add a more menacing dimension to its folklore.
Despite the numerous claims, the scientific community does not recognize the existence of Sasquatch due to the lack of verifiable physical evidence. No body, bone, or other irrefutable proof has ever been recovered. Researchers who have examined alleged evidence, such as hair or fecal samples, have often found them to belong to known animals like bears or coyotes, or to be from a hoax. Scientists frequently attribute sightings to the misidentification of known animals, particularly black bears, which can stand on their hind legs and appear surprisingly human-like from a distance. As a result, Sasquatch remains a figure of modern cryptozoology and popular culture rather than a recognized species.

After escaping the Urag facility, I met up with the rest of my squad as they were making their way back to the exfil vehicle. they were all amazed to see me alive, and I told them what had gone down. The younger ones were amazed by the tale of the Mutant, but Cryptid and I shared a glance understanding the implications of the Urag experimentation. I then said that we should make haste back to camp, and we left.
Upon returning to camp, we immediately delivered the intel to the tech operators. Inserting it to the computers, they discovered that it was filled with data on how the Urags were manufacturing the Mutants. One of the logs stated that they were having trouble asserting themselves over the Mutants, and they wouldn't take orders well. This much was obvious, by the apparent breakout. Fortunately, the Urags couldn't yet bring these terrible weapons to bear on the USDF... yet. Somewhat reassured, I went back to my tent for some rest. not bothering to change, I laid down...
Several hours later, I was awoken by hard rapping on a wooden post in my tent. Opening my eyes, I saw two MP's standing in my tent. "Are you Lt. Dagger?" One asked. I replied yes. not wasting any time, one of the two dragged me out of bed, and the other slapped wrist irons on me. Confused, I asked one what I was charged with. He replied, "Negligent manslaughter of the first degree. Someone high up issued the warrant. You're coming with us. Still confused, I followed them out of the tent. Outside, was a loose semicircle of soldiers, some my friends. I matched gazes with Cryptid, who had a quizzical look. I shrugged my shoulders, and continued. The MP's led me to a vehicle, a troop carrier with an enclosed back. Only briefly, I saw a woman who looked like Anna in the passenger seat. Then I was thrown into the back, and I saw the door close behind me. I heard the lock click, and we were off. Driving, to who knows where...
Pic taken by one of our Moultrie digital game cameras. Time and date stamped. Known as a "flying rod" or "skyfish", thought to be an unknown species not too long ago. Now, well, not so much. General consensus is that it is a trick of the camera, insect flying by camera combined with slow shutter speed (an insect trail). Do a Google search, you be the judge.

Mothman is a legendary moth-like creature reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area of West Virginia from 15 November 1966 to 15 December 1967. Mothman was introduced to a wider audience by Gray Barker in 1970, later popularized by John Keel in his 1975 book The Mothman Prophecies, claiming that Mothman was related to a wide array of supernatural events in the area and the collapse of the Silver Bridge. Some ufologists, paranormal authors, and cryptozoologists believe that Mothman was an alien, a supernatural manifestation, or an unknown cryptid. Many Mothman reports to are thought to be pranks, misidentified planes, and sightings of a barred owls or an albino owl, suggesting that the Mothman's "glowing eyes" were actually red-eye effect caused from the reflection of light from flashlights or other bright light sources. Im going say based on pictures I searched... its owl encounters! What do you think?

Chupacabra from chupar "to suck" and cabra "goat", literally "goat sucker" is a legendary cryptid rumored to inhabit parts of the Americas. The name comes from the animal's reported habit of attacking and drinking the blood of livestock, especially goats. The most common description of the chupacabra is that of a reptile-like creature, appearing to have leathery or scaly greenish-gray skin and sharp spines or quills running down its back. When it screeches, some reports assert that its eyes glow an unusual red which gives the witnesses nausea. With many documented sightings on record and some supposed specimens found dead most in the scientific community believe that this legend is nothing more then dogs, coyotes and raccoons or other similar animals with cases of mange, giving them a scaly reptilian look, pronounced features and a gaunt appearance. The glowing red eyes are nothing more then light reflections off the creatures eyes and the killing of livestock is nothing uncommon when it comes to typical coyote behavior.
