Window Installation at Bear and Bird Gallery -- 160 Jay Street in Schenectady, New York -- October 2022.
We asked our old artist friend Skot Olsen, who now lives in Portland, Oregon and works as a tattoo artist - to do some silhouette illustrations of the creatures he creates. He provided us with a great trove of options so we could put together this fun window installation at our Jay Street location!
All of the illustrations are by Skot, but the window itself was laid out and built by me and my family! Brenda at Truly Yours Custom Framing in Glenville, NY helped out with a couple of the cut outs too!
We hope you got to see it in person and enjoy it!

As with my other cryptid images, I used Google's ImageFX AI text-to-image generator to create this Pale Crawler (aka Wendigo) shot. For this one, I used a self-made description from mental images I know of them after hearing so many personal accounts shared on various cryptid and unusual YouTube channels like "What Lurks Beneath", "Donovan Dread", "Donovan Dread Stories", "Lilith Dread", "Weird Encounters" and "Woodsman". This is the description I gave for the program to make this amazing photo: "In a photo-realistic Arizona desert scene at night under a star-filled sky and a full moon casting its light over the landscape, scattered rocks of various sizes, cacti here and there, stands an 8 foot tall inhuman Wendigo being with pale, slick skin is hunched over with elongated, thin and insect-like limbs that are bent in unnatural ways. The arms end in hands with long fingers and black claws, with one stacking a nearby rock on a small stack of rocks. The feet are long with toes ending in sharp, black claws. On the elongated bald head, the face is smooth and featureless with a slit for a mouth and deep, dark, sunken eye sockets with two tiny glowing pinpoints of light where the eyes should be." I'm quite impressed at how well-done this AI program does the job, though I had to go through a bunch of photos to find the good ones. Enjoy these cryptid wallpapers.

Freaks of Nature: A silly art show for Freaks, Cryptids & Monsters
Made by one weird, silly, freaky Dee Wah-Lung
On exhibit at Bear and Bird South Florida: November 15, 2024 - January 12, 2025
Artist Bio: Diana "Dee" Wah-Lung is a queer, Latinx graphic designer and illustrator who draws inspiration from her love of vintage cartoons, graphic design, hardcore music, and all things whimsy and weird.
She is a Miami native who went to school for a degree in Fine Arts, where she landed in the world of product design for almost 10 years and realized she wanted to pursue her artistic endeavors and went with it, baby! Her journey has led her to a fun collaboration with the Miami Heat for Women’s History Month and has a myriad of products she designed for Ban.do sold at major retailers such as Urban Outfitters, Barnes and Noble and Anthropologie!
When she’s not glued to her sketchbook, you can find her watching a horror movie with her partner and two cats.
“Freaks of Nature” is Dee’s first solo art show based off of her personal experience of self discovery. Through whimsy, fun colors, and her cute illustrations - she shares her view of what it feels like to love two extremes and learn how to blend them together to feel like her most authentic self. With subtle horror influences to the more prominent monster mug shots, she wants to portray a universe where monsters and humans are much more alike than we realize, created with relatable typography and fun illustrations.
Artist Opening Reception:
Saturday, November 16 from 4-6pm
Let’s get weird together!
