After wrapping up the SL1, SL2, and ghost SL3 lines with Lisa, she headed out, and I scooped up Andrew and Janet (fresh out of the American Craft Beer Festival) to come walk the SL4 and SL5 branches. Here they are starting at Downtown Crossing.

Shibuya is famous for its scramble crossing. It is located in front of the Shibuya Station Hachikō exit and stops vehicles in all directions to allow pedestrians to inundate the entire intersection. Three large TV screens mounted on nearby buildings overlook the crossing. The Starbucks store overlooking the crossing is also one of the busiest in the world. (wikipedia).

Shibuya crossing. I shot this from the 2nd story of the Starbucks. As you can see its been raining all day my first full day here. As an LA person, im not too fond of rain. hahah.
I'm really happy my dad stuck an umbrella in my luggage without telling me.

Crossing Mnisose (“minne-show-she”) tells the story of one of America's first feminists, Sacajawea, and draws a line from a completely original view of Lewis and Clark to the present day, as descendants of the Dakota and Lakota Nations continue their fight for the Mnisose (or what Europeans named the “Missouri River”) and the lands that contain the burials of their ancestors. From celebrated playwright, activist, and attorney Mary Kathryn Nagle (Cherokee Nation), whose Manahatta captivated audiences at Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

On the former B&M line between Tilton and Lincoln, NH, any crossing that once had automatic protection is required to be flagged. The caboose train slowly makes it's way across US Route 3 just outside of downtown Tilton.

Pretty glad the security guard didnt see me. I also got spooked by a security office on the top floor, but no one was home. I moved quick and got this shot. not the best but I like it
The Iowa Interstate's Peoria line parallels N. 3rd street in downtown Chillicothe, IL, while crossing several others. This loaded NS grain train will travel to East Peoria, where a NS crew will take over and take the train eastward on its own line.
The crossing booms in Mohács were manually operated. First time I had seen a system like this.

This gentleman is an elementary school crossing guard in west Mount Vernon. He has been doing it for years. He always, and I mean always, has a funky hat on. This morning traffic was backed up and I had an opportunity to take his photo. It was also very foggy. He waves to every car that goes by. I'm pretty sure he must play santa somewhere too.
