The assignment was to draw the seated boy by George Seurat, then do crosshatching to build up the different value changes. The method for the crosshatching seated boy drawing was to use close parallel lines to create the illusion of shade, shadow, and volume. This was a new technique and was very unique. When you add little lines you get lighter values. In contrast, when you add more parallel lines on certain areas you create darker values on your drawing. The media is crosshatching, we used crosshatching to show the light, neutral, and dark values within the drawing.
