Yet another card where I have cut the design on the cricut machine based on the heart wing butterfly stamp.
It's a new year... What better way to start off than for PresentStorm to get her scrapbooking room organized? New drawers, labels, and a place for everything (Well... Not quite everything - There is still a bunch of new Christmas items to move in)

My daughter made me this card on her Cricut Machine. I took this photo of Chloe when she stayed with us for a week earlier this year. She was so happy to be able to play out in the snow.
I started back making scrapbook pages in December after leaving off making pages for almost a year. I had reacquainted myself to the print and cut feature of my die cutting machine which explains why four of them are on this page.
This is a cut out using my cricut based on the bold flourish stamp, the background is stamped with the dots & flowers design block
Just finished up this cake for a party tonight. I've been wanting to do a cake in black, white and yellow, so I was very excited to get this order.
It's a 4" lemon cake with raspberry filling and lemon buttercream and an 8" vanilla cake with chocolate filling and vanilla buttercream. Fondant decorations cut with the Cricut Cake. Gumpaste flowers and numbers.
Hope they like it!
**Just found out this made Explore #456, June 10, 2010
This cake was designed for a very special woman - Kathy! Once my client, she became a very dear friend of mine!
Her dear husband asked for a surprise cake, both for him and Kathy. The things I knew were that she loved weddings and princesses, and that her Birthday party was about pink, silver, red, love and sparkle. That was enough for me!
A pink princess cake with a wedding-cake flare.
Milk Chocolate Cake with Milk Belgian Chocolate Mocha Truffle Filling. (40 servings)
Cricut cutouts, poured isomalt, gum paste shoe, silk drapes, ribbon roses - it has them all!!!

I created this card for 2 challenges. I used the colors for Embellish Magazine's 'Embellish the Cure Color Challenge with Bling' and the Mojo Monday sketch 109. I've seen lots of cards using the new Spellbinders label 8 die and really liked them. I don't have that die so I used my Cricut Expression to make a similar cut. Products used were:
CL113 Merriest Wishes
Cricut Expression with Accent Essentials cartridge
Bling- Darice
Versamark
Button & floss from stash
“Repurposing” I turned a old cabinet into a wall art piece. Using my #Cricut and #eBrush made this beauty.....just for fun! 👍 #craft #make #create #brianlapsley #airbrush #craftwell www.brianlapsley.com
I don't have a cricut and probably will never be getting one, but every now and then I really, really wish I had one :).
I don't think they work with MC anyway, so I will just suck it up, lol. I didn't think I could freehand cut this out of chocolate so I took a CUDDLEBUG cartridge and used it as an impression matte and then cut it out with an exacto knife. The end result sort of had the same feel as cricut cut images but with more labor....but way, way cheaper (I think the cartridge was around $5.00 with a coupon). The important thing here, is that you cannot just remove the cut item from the plastic matte it is on; it will distort and there goes all your labor. You need to pop it in the freezer for a few minutes and then you can slightly bend the cutting matte and the chocolate will come free and be firm enough to be placed on the cake.
I love these Hero Arts pumpkins and used them a lot.
The leaves are cut with my Cricut machine and colored with Distress Inks.
On my blog is another pumpkin card with a story and a question....

A wedding cake for Bob and Monika.
Hearts and letters are cut on Cricut (Expressions), edible image fondant fabric for the bows and ribbon drapes.
Sugar paste monogram cake topper.
The fabric pattern, monogram outline, color scheme, hearts and lyrics line were picked by the bride.
57-60 servings of Milk Chocolate Cake with Orange infused White Truffle filling.
The woodgrain, the little birdie and the sentiment are all Hero Arts stamps. The branch is cut with the Cricut and the leaf border is a punched border. I love the woodgrain stamped with the green.
I’m loving my new embossing machine! #art #embossing #craft #diy #paint #make #create #cricut www.brianlapsley.com

A birthday cake for a girl, who loves shopping!
Milk Chocolate cake with chocolate truffle filling, Sugar paste bow.
25 servings.
I again used Cricut Expressions to make fondant cutouts on the sides of this cake.
This was so much fun to make! :)
The shapes of the original decoders reminded me of a Cricut and Xyron machine. They were the inspiration behind this art/scrapbooking studio.
Jungle cake

Jungle cake for an adult party. Instead of making cartoonish fondant animals that would fit perfectly any kids cake, I opted for the elegance and simplicity of black silhouettes. Rice paper butterflies, fondant snake, wild lianas, animal skin prints ribbon around the bottom tier - all edible.
Silhouettes are Icing Sheets, airbrushed with black and cut on Cricut.
Peacock feathers are real.
30 servings, chocolate cake with truffle filling.

Birthday Cake Exploding Box - Flower Shoppe, Storybook, Elegant Edges and Floral Embellishment Cartridges.
I found the idea for this in a baby themed magazine (I'll have to look for it to find the title). I used my cricut to make the rattle.

Paper cut of an iPad drawing by Cricut, a digital cutter. It's like an old-fashioned plotter but with a blade instead of a pen.
Experimenting with how thick the lines have to be, how detailed it can cut, how thick a piece of paper it can cut, the pros and cons of having all the shapes be closed, and the fabulous shadows you can make with the completed pieces. Like Calders made of paper.
