It goes without saying that the mosquitos in the forest were thrilled to find a victim stumble into their realm that was too occupied to try to kill them. It feels like those beasts sucked out 50% of my blood or so :/

We’re prototyping new ways to move animated creatures for our upcoming Haunted House with lower-school and middle-school students in our Maker Art class this fall.
In this after-school workshop, students will build a fantasy world together, with magical creatures, ghosts, witches and other animated characters inspired by Halloween.
To prepare for this class, my associate Sarah Brewer and I are prototyping an animated creature, using laser cut wood and cardboard to make it move up and down, as if flying.
This open-close mechanism was designed by maker HyunJoo Oh, who is working with PaperMechatronics.net. She has graciously shared their detailed instructions with us. Much appreciated!
We will combine arts and technology such as this to bring our class creations to life: each student will have their own room in our haunted house, and they will learn to build simple robots and automata like these, then play with lights and sounds to tell their stories for our ‘show and tell’.
We are offering this class in two different schools this fall. At the Lycée Français in Sausalito, we teach lower school students in grades 4 and 5, every Thursday at 3:30pm, from September 15 to December 8, 2016. At Tam High School, we teach middle school students in grades 6 to 9, every Wednesday at 3:30pm, from September 28 to November 16, 2016.
Students will create their own interactive art, in a playful way that makes learning more fun. Working collaboratively, they will make lights blink, sounds play and things move — bringing characters to life inside a cardboard ‘wonderbox.’

Today at photography class, my friend and I were talking pictures and suddenly there was a bunch of dogs came out of know where. My classmates and I got distracted so we decided to take pictures of dog. So I capture this little cutie. Can you believe she's only 8months old?!
Water creature majestic and beautiful like the ocean itself comes from the ocean depth riding a sea horse.

Mythological Creatures
Drawing & Painting for 6 year olds, Session II
In preparation for this multi-week project, the students explored mythology. We discussed the more common-known mythological creatures such as dragons, unicorns and mermaids, but also delved into the tales of Greek mythology and learned about Centaurs, the Sirens (three dangerous “bird women”), and Medusa.
The students were then challenged to invent their own mythological creatures, taking different body parts and characteristics of different known animals and combining them with others. Each body part was first drawn and then painted using tempera paint on separate pieces of paper. The color wheel was studied and used as a guide for mixing colors, as the only paints used for this project were the primary colors: red, yellow, and blue and white.
Once the paint dried, the students cut out each body part and affixed them in their proper places using brass bins so that the arms, legs, tails and heads could move freely. As a finishing touch, gold paint markers were used to add extra embellishments. The results are these colorful, imaginative creatures you see in front of you!
