A LEGO creature built entirely from parts out of a series of LEGO Star Wars Polybag sets. The parts restriction made it an interesting and challenging build.

I captured these sea creatures at the Houston Museum of Natural History. My captures were without flash, without a tripod, and not captured very well. So, I used a few filters to mask the imperfections, because I felt compelled to share.

I really am always amused by these sea creatures at the museum. One day, I will figure out how best to capture these.

She casts weird dreams.

She lives near bubbling brooks where Lords and Ladies and cuckoo's pint grow.

She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.

She wears a dress made of petals and has delicate pink coloured wings.

Not sure what to call this.

I didn't go inside the art gallery, but the outside was certainly interesting. :-)

Al-Burāq (Arabic: البُراق‎ al-Burāq "lightning") is a miraculous steed, described as a creature from the heavens which transported the prophets. The most commonly told story is how in the 7th century, the Buraq carried the prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Jerusalem and back during the Isra and Mi'raj or "Night Journey", which is the title of one of the chapters of the Qur'an.

We came across these hollow sand "eggs" at the water's edge at Crosby Landing Beach. Each one had a little hole in the end, and most had a larger opening on the side. There was nothing inside, but we figured it was some kind of creature dwelling.

We walked along the shore looking for one that might be inhabited, and finally we found one that had no visible hole. We opened it and found what looked like a tiny developing crustacean.

I have no idea what it is. I would love some help identifying it, if anyone has any info or ideas.

(It kind of looks like the Silkie from the Teen Titans Go! cartoon.)

Children and adults were able to pet a hairless guinea pig. Did you know that a hairless guinea pigs temperature is always at 100 degrees?

I was inspired by lovely Creature Comforts blog and tried tea painting. It's so great!

Oh yes, I love tea so you may suppose I love tea painting. And really - you're right! I have never liked painting by water colours (because I've never been good at it) but painting with tea is better.

This time I tried painting by green tea, strong black tea and ceylon honey tea (that's actually quite disgusting, it's much honey-flavoured).

Next time I want to try painting by more kinds of tea.

I like it.

Try it too!

It's gills and mouth moved so subtly, it was really freaky.

A freaky baseball-bat creature.
