CC Week 36: From on High
I made a necklace, or should I say, I almost finished making a necklace. It has been sitting in a rarely used room for quite some time, literally gathering dust.
While exploring a beach, about 5 mins from my home, while Peggy & Ted were visiting. A local guy, named Stan, has built these art installations that look like benches and armchairs and a barbecue pit.. They feel comfortable when you sit on them and enjoy the scenery. Best seen large by pressing L or Z.

With a lockdown in place it is against the rules for me to go to places I like to shoot, so I though I would try to create a series called Isolated creativity. The series is not intended to be a diary but a way of documenting thoughts and emotions via photography.
Today I can drive to the coast to exercise, but I can't park as all the car park and toilets are locked.
I can meet my son at the recreational field a short distance from my house but not in my garden
I can go to work if I can but not by public transport
I can have people visit my house to clean it, but not my friends.
If I had a second home I shouldn't visit it but every second home in my village has been occupied from the start of lockdown and people frequently seem to be coming and going to them.
It's complicated.
We need Art more than ever right now. It is clearly an integral part of the human condition; just look at the amount of creativity being pumped into your timeline right now.
Art helps us make sense of a senseless world and Art can be expressed in anything - don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
- A homecooked meal, a shopping list, an arrangement of daffodils on your windowsill. Creativity has no definition and it certainly doesn’t have a word count! Embrace human expression and do whatever it takes to stay connected and we’ll get through this.
I’m working on three images at the moment, all in different stages of gestation plus a few other projects with potential. I did have a solo exhibition scheduled for April but that’s been understandably postponed due to government covid-19 guidelines on gatherings. We’re all in the same boat.
But I am curious; how did you express your creativity today?
