For Sliders Sunday, I combined an ICM image of a forest with orange leaves still hanging on to the Beech trees and the red Osier Dogwood bushes framing the forest floor with an image of a Woodpecker knocking on an old trunk to make a home for what may be young birds soon.
This creative edit highlights the form of the lingering trees across a wetlands pond by the Beaver Creek wetlands area of the Brian Booth State Park east of Ona Beach on the Central Oregon coast (July 2021). [30in x 17.7in]
Nigella damascene, aka Love in the mist. Nigella is an old cottage garden flower, a favourite for scattering wherever there is a gap in the flower border, but also good for short-term massed bedding and for drying.
For Macro Mondays theme- Mostly White.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR FAVES AND KIND COMMENTS. I READ, AND APPRECIATE, EVERY ONE OF THEM!
“I want to live simply. I want to sit by the window when it rains and read books I’ll never be tested on. I want to paint because I want to, not because I’ve got something to prove. I want to listen to my body, fall asleep when the moon is high and wake up slowly, with no place to rush off to. I want not to be governed by money or clocks or any of the artificial restraints that humanity imposes on itself. I just want to be boundless and infinite…..”. -Unknown.
Today was a perfect day to live simply while the winter storm hit us full force. Luckily, we kept our power all day so I could play with some edits on my computer like this composite image of an earlier snowfall this month. It is a blend of two images, one of them being an ICM image. Although, I have been dabbling in a bit of watercolour painting at home, I enjoy creating abstract art with my photographs, too. It allows my imagination to be boundless and infinite. We still have strong winds blowing and tons of snow falling. If the power goes out tomorrow, I’ll do my painting or read a book.
"...I think she wants to give me a hug
maybe
but there's an invisible cage
a delicate netting of glass
an ice sculpture surrounding me
that no one can walk through
I’m cold
I’ve frozen into someone who just can’t be touched
I dare you to try...".
