Assignment: create a scene that looks more like what you saw than a photograph of the scene could otherwise convey.
@ the Iguana cafe there is a machine which creates clouds and at the same time takes care of the cooling.

During our visit we had the the great opportunity to see the street artist Tymon de Laat paint a Cuban tobacco farmer from Viñales whom he photographed on his travels. "Meeting and documenting humanity is a big part of his creative process. After meeting people, he paints them on walls around the world exchanging cultures. This is his way of reminding us that we’re all people living under one roof." (from the Museum's database)
We had the great pleasure of speaking to Mr. de Latt at length. He was a friendly, outgoing individual who loves his art.
While in Amsterdam for a vacation in April 2022, we visited Straat:the museum for street art and graffiti. We intended to spend a couple hours here; it was so interesting that we spent most of the day.
If you are interested in more info about the art on this page, check out the museum's database at

You can then scroll to find the artwork shown above, click on it, and read many more details about it.
Thanks for viewing my photos!
From the museum's website:
From Keith Haring to Banksy, street art has made tons of headlines in recent history. Its impact on art, fashion, design, advertising and culture at large is stronger than ever.
Enter STRAAT: the museum for graffiti and street art. We aim to share our passion for this radical art movement with the public, showcasing some of the biggest names and upcoming talent from all over the world. STRAAT is a graffiti and street art museum for everyone, made possible by a dedicated team of enthusiasts.
Our current exhibition displays more than 150 artworks by 130+ artists. The artworks were created on-site and most of these mind blowing visual experiences are as big as outdoor walls. As a museum, we provide the added value of context and information. Here’s your chance to get to know the stories that remain untold in the streets!

Create a fantastical steampunk creature that merges an elephant with the spiraled shell of a snail. Its body is armored in matte black metal, covered in polished brass gears, rivets, and tiny machinery parts that whir beneath plates. The shell should be amber-gold with segmented steampunk joints, glowing filaments, and thorn-like spikes. Add ornate valves, copper tubing, and Victorian embellishments across the head and legs. Use dramatic lighting, high-detail textures, and a collectible art-toy aesthetic. 🐘⚙️🐌✨

This was my submission, "Create..." to the 1st Annual Chain-link Fence Art Exhibition and Competition. Had a lot of fun with this, inspired by chain-link fencing of which I’ve never worked with before, tricky stuff ;) My arms got a work out.
MATERIALS: a 4 ft. x 4ft. scrap piece of chain-link fencing, a found barbeque grill (web), crystals, glass beads, found metal nuts/bolts/washers, metal wire and scrap telephone wire. I wanted people to discover the message in the spider’s web, “create” that would tie into the leading ant’s message of peace, happiness, laughter, love, opportunity, dreams, something(!). It’s good fun if we choose to create positive things for ourselves and the world :)
If you are curious about the process and the other versions/redo’s that went into this piece, please visit my blog to see more!
