I had admired these when I saw some lit in someone's yard in town a few weeks back My girls brought these home from a friends house last night (they were left over wedding decorations). We put citronella candles inside and sat out on the porch. What a nice change from open flamed candles to repel bugs and the glare of porch lights.

Creating Healthy Work Environments

Austin, Texas, USA

Day 1 - 10 February 2023

We are passionate about bringing a relaxed approach while creating beautiful, natural and vibrant images.

This was done for my Designing with Type class. The assignment was to sculpt or build 3D type, so I crumpled up old magazines, beaded wire through the papers, and used wire to make them stand.

Created in Photoshop with my paper models. Inspired by the Star Trek episode "The Ultimate Computer"

Nothing lasts forever. Everything fades away, but nothing is eternal. Do I believe that? Does it matter? I do know that, for all the times that I've got nothing to say, nothing can put an end to my silence. I understand that nothingness is comforting in a way, that for all the busy-ness going on around me, there will always be a time that I can step back and be absent from myself. Just like when I'm asleep. I know that, for some small part of the night, when I'm lost away into some dream or nightmare, unaware and unremembered hours pass by unnoticed until dawn. Where does the time go? Does it matter?

I don't want to sound like I'm unconcerned about the passage of time, but I don't want to give the impression that I'm constantly aware of it, either. Would that image be accurate or not? There's no denying that I find it hard to settle down, to tune out and separate myself from the ever-passing moment. There's something strange about writing your thoughts from a place of disconnected observation, the naked awareness of self watching self, as if waiting for change will somehow make it come to pass. But we all need a nature, and that is mine. Always has been. Sometimes, when I'm looking for a better conclusion to my personal story, I find myself creating situations that I "do something". I start a conversation, visit a place, make a friendship. That what's it like when you feel more like a character than an author, when perhaps you shouldn't be feeling like either.

There's no easy end to any thought, as I discover the more that I write. I used to believe that every story you tell is some sort of lead-in to fantasy, an escape from a reality that's apparently too hard to handle. Writing has become more like a chain than a train of thought, a series of iron links that wrap around me and the person I'm trying to reach. Readers are so unidentifiable, they rarely speak for themselves. Maybe we've been inventing a world where everyone is fishing but no one is taking the bait. What does that say about us as air breathers? Maybe, in the end, we're all just gasping for water.

Our Maker Art class created a Haunted House in fall 2016. In this after-school workshop at the Lycée Français, students ages 7 to 10 built a fantasy world together, with magical creatures, ghosts, witches and other spooky characters.

We combined arts and technology to bring their creations to life: each student created their own room in our haunted house, and animated their characters with motors and simple mechanisms, adding lights and sounds to tell their stories.

Students started by designing their rooms and characters, and built them in their own cardboard ‘wonderboxes.’ We then asked them to sketch up their individual visions of the Haunted House and combined them together. Children worked in teams to build some of the more complex features: a clock tower, an elevator and an animated graveyard zombie, all powered with Arduino boards.

I’m very grateful to my associate teachers for this class: Sarah Brewer and Edward Janne were amazing partners and empowered our students to create their own interactive art, helping them bring their ideas to life in a playful way that made learning more fun.

We taught this class weekly at the Lycée Français in Sausalito, with 8 school students in grades 3, 4 and 5. We met every Thursday at 3:30pm, from September 15 to December 8, 2016. Many of the materials we used in this class were prepared at Tam Makers, our makerspace in Mill Valley.

Critical thinking and reflection based activities. My day at CFI Camp Inquiriy.

The Daily Create for September 17th tdc618 prompts us to "create a Face Swap image of yourself swapped with Talky Tina’s face!"

Since John Johnston had done such a masterful face swap already with iamTalkyTina, I decided that I would riff on his image and swap my face with his. So my face winds up on Tina, Tina's face winds up on John, and John's face winds up on me.

If anyone is interested in joining us, I've extended the wall and carpeting to (now) John's right so that there is room for you to crowd in.

It's also nice to see three different ds106 shirts represented -- the ds106radio shirt (which I am now wearing), the @GiuliaForsythe Kickstarter campaign shirt (which Tina is now wearing) and the ds106zone shirt from summer2013 (which John is now wearing).

——

The Race for the Cure® is the world's largest and most successful education and fundraising breast cancer event ever created. Once again, ThinkPinkLux in collaboration with ThinkPinkEurope organized a Race for the Cure®. The event is a non-competitive walk or run to celebrate life, show support to survivors and remember those who are unfortunately no longer here. Funds raised in Luxembourg will remain in Luxembourg and go towards our research project at the Luxembourg Institute of Health.

Created in Adobe Illustrator and colored in Processing. I used the features of the newest version of Processing to randomly color the image...the SVG was placed in memory and its XML colors were changed every frame. With the SVG in memory, the framerates are pretty high for this sort of manipulation.

I'm looking forward to seeing what people can do with SVGs in Processing.

I really like the light on Yasmine here and the play with the tulle fabric. I like the way the tulle is frozen in the air and makes the image a little surreal

You created the channel and placed Alisa inside of you and never even asked me if you could what do you think is going to happen to you CIA Whore and MURDERER Jami Rose?

Still creating that "natural order" and ordinance of time of yours on a daily monthly weekly yearly basis and killing people in time, CIA Whore and MURDERER Jami Rose? :)

how much longer do you think before it ends up, on *your* end :)

you set up the channel without even asking me jami, and then you did what you wanted to, in 2005 and 2006. you chose murder jami, you chose

who supported you jami.. and why did you accept $$,$$$ to contain 176 at 1831 salecdo/guyaso, and let those people die.. without even asking

me, if you could could create that channel, if you contain me. you chose jami. you chose murder. who supported you?

your CIA Whore Jami Rose MURDERED all of those people, DESTROYED all of those lives, what should her punishment be?

by entering in her information from date of birth here:

www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html

you can monitor her information that is used by the world markets on a daily basis, not only that, but control for what is in numerical belief, thru out the us and the rest of the world.

She creates a natural order in time with her existance and by her date of birth, on a daily basis, weekly basis, yearly basis and in forward motion time placement. :)

Its also an Ordinance in time,

(but she's KILLING people in time. THOUSANDS of people,

and *thats* accepted. :) not anymore, huh, CIA Whore and MURDERER Jami Rose. :) not anymore :)

From and including: Saturday, January 1, 0001 (Julian calendar)

To, but not including : Friday, April 4, 1980 (Gregorian calendar)

It is 722,910 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date

Or 1979 years, 3 months, 3 days excluding the end date

Note:The From date is a Julian calendar date. The current Gregorian calendar was adopted in United States where Thursday, September 3, 1752 was the first of 11 days that were skipped. This has been accounted for in this calculation. Read more about the Julian and Gregorian calendars

Alternative time units

722,910 days can be converted to one of these units:

62,459,424,000 seconds

1,040,990,400 minutes

17,349,840 hours

103,272 weeks (rounded down)

if you need a little help to her "stasis of orgin" here you go. if you're not smart enough to know what a birthday does in time, its an active measure for which you create throught your life span. there, i said it. don't like that intelligent secret? millions people living, and not knowing that. how could anyone not know? :)

and all those people she killed. never punished

to you :)

:)
