This is one of the shots I promised from Saturday's great cloud day. I took this from the fuel island of the Broadway truck stop in Pasco, Washington. I avoid stopping here, the pumps are old, not even equipped with card readers, you have to go inside to prepay. They're part of the Flying J network of truck stops, but not corporate owned, a franchise.

Anyway, I stopped here because my windshield was so splattered with bugs I couldn't stand it anymore. As I looked at the clouds, I thought if anything can make this dump look good, it's those crazy cool clouds.

Pretty happy with this B&W version, but wait till you see the color. If I don't post the color next, I'll post it pretty soon.

Delivering in Kent Washington tomorrow morning, then over to Port Townsend for a paper load back to SoCal. My pickup isn't until 3 PM, so I should have a few hours in between to check out what some of you have posted.

OK so I'm being a bit lazy, a few people asked about the colour version when I posted the original black and white sometime ago , I was also too lazy to go out tonight and get some nice evening shots so heres the colour version given some HDR treatment whilst watching Lost (cant get into the new series, yeah Im sad I know :-). Quite different when in colour-hope you like it, hope to get out tomorrow night for more new pics

Mornings In Mazatlan Mexico. While you were sleeping, we often get these huge clouds over Punto Cerritos. They really tend to dwarf the huge places like the RIU and other huge constructions.

There have been some "crazy skies" this September here in Vancouver. I've been trying to capture some of them...through my living room window. I hope to post a few more soon. This is a collage of the sky on the evening of September 9th.

Took this a couple Saturdays ago at the Griffith Observatory. The sunset was amazing and there were quite a few other shutterbug's with their tripods set-up shooting. The majority of them toward the sunset. I took a few shots toward the sunset and then notice the nice golden side-light coming in across Los Angeles and knew I had to run to get a different comp. Luckily not as many people had my brilliant idea and I had much more room to maneuver. I am quite happy with the way this turned out. Enjoy!

This is a old house on the way to Takaka after you wind your way down all the switchbacks on the Takaka Hill road. It was one of those 'find somewhere to turn around' kind of places to get a shot. Knew there was a image here somehow...even if this is a composite.

Fast Freak Storm Mazatlan Mexico..

We've had about 4 of these very odd sudden strong wind storms blow over us in the last few months, knocking out windows, doors and other minor damage. They are intense and a thrill to watch, but they are really dangerous.

Have found that living in the lea of the Ruahine Ranges produces some of the most amazing cloud formations. This being no exception. It was really fleeting...just long enough to get the camera and compose.

One thing about living on the enlightened side of the Ruahine Ranges is the awesome cloud formations you can get. Was hoping this would update into a nice lenticular but this is about as far as it went. Still made for something of a little interest...
