Chester is experimenting to see if he can make some print plates made on the site of his chosen subject. He's using found materials captured in plaster of paris.

The coursework from Graphic Communication at Worthing College. We were supposed to make a collage from our source materials. The purpose of this exercise provided us through all aspects of creating artwork - shape, colour, size, composition, motion. rhythm, mood, contrast, subject, message, meaning and particular objects.

The name is derived from famous "Last Supper", however religious meaning are not there. My aim was different. I used a camera as some kind of subject that could bring new conjunctions. The objective is kind of a eye and photographic paper a memory. It is also paparazzi instrument used as privacy disturber. The horse is stuck among these cruel machines that eat it alive. It suffers and probably shouts for the last time. This scenery is above a dark B&W ground land. Isn't that real surrealism?

This is a Critical Analysis essay and the start of my Venetian Mask inspired moodboard. I have also included Lady GaGa because she wears many crazy and large headpieces and masks which were inspiring.

Brief: design autobiography cover.

The coloured version of my Opie portrait had to become the main image of the autobiography cover. It also had to include my name and a title which was to make sense to only me. It also had to have a publishers name and logo so I picked a well-known one. The last thing was to have a quote from a reviewer and I went for the first name that came to mind ;)

This is actually the second version of the autobiography cover I created as I didn't like the first one at all.

Created using Photoshop CS4.

NB: My name has been edited for security purposes.

A simple exercise in mark making with organic shapes in mind.

This was the view you got as you walked in and looked up at the money. I absolutely loved doing this project and enjoyed the outcome.

art coursework - brainstorms for montage

My coursework was based on the theme ‘Places and Spaces’, I started by collecting ideas through mood boards and mind maps etc., then developed them by looking at the artists Martin Parr and Guy Bourdin. From Guy Bourdins work I started looking at the idea of people being confined in a small space. Although I was pleased with this shoot I decided to move on from that idea and focus instead more on Martin Parr because I liked the spontaneity of his work, I did a film shoot in Brick lane, trying to document the culture of the area and possibly find quirky things you wouldn’t see every day. I was pleased with how this turned out and so then decided to combine my two shoots in a way, looking at spaces within places and people within spaces, like my Martin Parr shoot I did not plan it out and instead looked for chance opportunities, which made my shoot more diverse and interesting. I then looked at Emmet Gowin, I used a fish eye camera to photograph parts of people and places, trying to create a sense of mystery because the viewer could only see part of the person and place and the fish eye camera meant that the edges of the photo were blocked out and distorted, limiting the context of each image. I then decided to develop the idea of blocking parts of the image out by looking at John Stezaker. For my final image/shoot I took inspiration from John Stezaker and took portraits of people in the style of Hollywood head shots from the 50’s, overlaying a photo of a place that was meant to be significant or meaningful from their past. I was interested in the idea that certain memories or places from peoples past could start to define that person in the future.
