It had been about two weeks since we visited Mud Creek Environmental Learning Center in Ghent, New York, USA, so we dropped by on May 20, 2012, to see how the season was progressing. The sassafras trees are, now, fully leaved out. Nice!

Kayaking on a river is new to me although I consider myself a boater and water person. The Deschutes River is very shallow near Old Mill District. We paddled our inflatable kayak upstream and stopped in front of the Les Schwab Amphitheater. Eventually, we glided over a rock hidden underneath the water and stopped. Our weight anchored us into our spot. LIve music is pumping out like a loud speaker carried by the water into the night and beyond. Counting Crows were incredible as were the opening bands. The sunset was unforgettable. Hot fun in the summertime rockin' Bend, Oregon.

13 kids and teens came last Wednesday in this outreach to underprivileged children being raised in the crime-filled ghetto of East Nashville. We are giving them hope in Jesus' name for a new tomorrow, free from drugs and crime, and we are seeing behavior changing and grades improving in this Christian based Character Counts Club of evangelism, which we began in 2019.
