This counted cross stitch piece was a gift from my Mom. She finished this in 1988. She also did one from my grandmother, her mother, of yellow roses. Not sure if you have tried this craft, it is fun and time consuming! This hangs in my front foyer over the staircase.

Carla Hall of ABC's "The Chew" spends quality time with troops and their families, and offers them tips during a USO cooking class at the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir in Virginia on July 22, 2014. Standing at my backdoor, I used a dry/wipe marker to count the birds as I see them.
The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent. Anyone can participate, from beginning bird watchers to experts. It takes as little as 15 minutes. It’s free, fun, and easy—and it helps the birds.

Uncle Fester, like Count Smokula, is an attention hound, trying to find every opportunity to get into a photo or video. Here he is standing next to speakers who talk about the day's event at the museum. To hear a portion of the speech, go to YouTube:

It looks like there are three families of Canada Geese with a bunch of little ones. Can you count them? I counted about 31-32 of the Goslings. Check the Original Size photo for the best view.
The basket and apples are all movable, attached by small round of velcro. I swear, I used to think, for some reason, that being an "adult" looked like "sitting under trees with your legs crossed and arms folded behind your head."

Running of the Sheep at The 2010 Great NZ Muster in Te Kuiti, NZ. This is an annual event that is similar to the running of the bulls. Around 2000 sheep run through the main street of Te Kuiti.

Please welcome my new boy; Corazon! Like Ceniza, he's a Grim Reaper, the 10th. He kills using sentiment, and he's specialized in serial killers and condamned to death.
He hates Ceniza, and doesn't have any friends (he doesn't want some). He speaks to himself, and wants everybody to call him "Count Corazon" or "Lord Corazon". He's very unpleasant and imbued. Only Daryl loves him, but Daryl loves everyone...!
Like every Grim Reaper, he has a colous, his one are the yellow.
He waits for his own wig.

One of our nature activities. During our seed hunt, my older daughter was counting the number of needles on the pine "leaf" to figure out what type of pine it was. The bag, which is hard to see, is Meg's Naturalist's Scavenger Hunt bag from her second book - love the pattern! (mommaowlslab.blogspot.com/2011/10/science-thursday-seed-h...)
