A coping brick on a front garden wall on Corporation Road, originally carrying cast iron railings. As is often the case with these special bricks, the "N" of St Julian's and Newport is reversed. A bit further down, a gatepost cap brick had the same reversed "N".
It is known that this brickworks was operating and supplying bricks in the 1890s, and a wall at Big Pit, Blaenavon has a St Julian’s brick in it. Kelly’s for 1881 has an entry for “G Howard, St Julian’s, Christchurch, Newport” which may be connected. Kelly’s of 1895 has “St Julian’s Brick & Tile Co, Newport. The last entry held is in Kelly’s for 1926.

Kelly’s for 1895 lists the “Alteryn Brick Co; works Alteryn, Newport” (Allt-Yr-Yn). In the 1906 Kelly’s, it had become the “Alteryn Brick, Tile & Terracotta Co Ltd” and the Directory of Quarries (DOQ) for 1937 and 1941-2 lists the “New Alteryn Brick Co, Alteryn, Newport”, the last reference to this company. Post war, it was absorbed into the Star Brick & Tile empire.

Once again I've used the ocean waves as inspiration and using the different shades of blues to achieve this look. This mosaic is slightly more adventurous though. In this I've actually used glass shapes of fish swimming along from one end towards the sun at the other. I've also used glass half moon shapes to represent the gushing water in which they're swimming. So in this mosaic there are two representations of the water elements with the latter being more three dimensional.
Glass gems have also been utilised to; add to the effect some of which with silver mirror tiles underneath.
I suffer from Burning Mouth Syndrome. I have for 11 years now with no cure. It is classified under rare disorders and I am desperate for relief or a cure. I just want this terrible disease to be well known and doctors take notice of how debilitating it is. Thank you

Nakakadugo ng puso ang kwento ng kanyang buhay.Dahilan kung bakit siya gumagamit ng rugby ay upang maibsan ng kaunti ang madaming gutom na kanyang nararamdaman. Kanyang imahinasyon ay pinapagana para makatawid lang sa gutom. Ang mga tulad niya ay gusto ibahin yung perception nila kasi ayaw nila yung "normal" nilang pag-perceive sa mundo. Sa panahong ito, reporma ang kanyang higit na kailangan, pagmamahal at suporta ng mga magulang. Eh ang tanong paano siya masusuportahan ng kanyang mga magulang kung ang mismong mga magulang ay nasa likod ng rehas at wala ding magawa sa kalagayan ng kanilang anak.
Isa lang ito sa malinaw na manifestation ng kabulukang nangyayari sa lipunan.
Huwag nating hayaang ang mga batang tulad nila ay maging salot ng lipunan. Kung hindi man mabigyang pansin ng pesteng gobyerno ang mga batang may masalimuot na buhay-kalsada, probably we should find ways to help them. They need help, a lot of help. It's too heartless kung sila pa ay iyong pagalitan or pandirihan.

Hanggang ngayon inaantay pa din ng bata ang aking pagbabalik dahil sa gusto nya ipakita sakin ang bagong Errol at sa pangako kong JOLLIBEE.
Note: Yung bata na nasa kaliwa. Siya ay pinsan ni Errol. Hindi siya nagrurugby. Yun ang kinagandahan ng kanyang buhay dahil may magulang siya na gumagabay sa kanya. Ganun pa man, hikahos din siya sa buhay.
A blue-black Hamblet coping brick on the retaining wall of the underpass on Soho Street. As seemed common for their coping bricks at this period, there is a year stamp (1898).
The Hamblet works in West Bromwich, was founded in 1851 when Joseph Hamblet acquired part of the Piercy estate at Ireland Green, becoming the largest brickworks in this area of West Bromwich. The firm specialised in blue bricks, but produced many other types as well. In 1898, four years after Hamblet's death, it became Hamblet's Blue Brick Co Ltd. The firm closed down in 1915 and the estate was sold off in 1919.

Nina (9 jaar) woont met haar vader en moeder in Gbanga, Bong County. Ze is enig kind en een echt moederskind. Haar vader Emanuel is leraar Engels en moeder Yasmin zorgt voor haar dochter. Nina is dol op school en spelen met haar vriendinnen, maar het allerliefst leest ze een boek. .

Ebola heeft een grote impact op het gezin. Emanuel raakte zijn baan kwijt toen de scholen noodgedwongen moesten sluiten, Nina kon niet meer naar school. Uit angst dat Nina besmet zou raken met ebola, besloten Emanuel en Yasmin om hun dochter binnen te houden. Al weken lang kon het meisje geen kant op en sleet haar dagen met boeken lezen en haar moeder helpen. .

Twee weken geleden werd Nina ziek. Ze kreeg koorts en werd opgenomen in Phebe Hospital*. Haar ebolatest was negatief, dus ze werd opgenomen in het ziekenhuis. Tijdens het inbrengen van een infuus zo’n 1,5 week na haar opname begon ze opeens hevig te bloeden. Dit alarmeerde de verpleegkundigen en ze werd onmiddellijk in isolatie geplaatst ter observatie. Het konden immers alsnog de symptomen van ebola zijn. .

Nina bracht 3 angstige dagen door in de isolatie-afdeling voordat haar ebolatest wederom negatief uitwees. Haar moeder week geen seconde van het ziekenhuis. Haar vaste plek was een steen, net aan de andere kant van het hek. Nina zat zo veel mogelijk buiten, zodat ze haar moeder kon zien en met haar kon praten. Het was een kwelling voor Yasmin dat ze haar dochter niet kon vasthouden en troosten. Nina vond de verpleegkundigen in hun beschermende pakken eng, want volgens haar waren het verkleedde geesten. Bovendien miste ze haar ouders enorm. .

Toen duidelijk werd dat Nina geen ebola had, mocht ze naar huis. Haar kleding moest ze achterlaten, dus Save the Children gaf haar nieuwe kleren en schoenen. De verpleegkundigen adviseerde Yasmin om haar dochter zo veel mogelijk te knuffelen en haar omgeving te vertellen dat er bij Nina geen sprake is van ebola, om stigmatisering te voorkomen. .

Nina is nog steeds erg zwak en de toekomst is onzeker voor het gezin. Er komt al maanden geen brood op de plank en het gezin zit financieel aan de grond. Er is amper nog geld om eten te komen. Daarom ontvangen ze voedselpakketten van Save the Children, want het is belangrijk dat Nina weer aansterkt en gezond wordt. .

Het ziet er naar uit dat de scholen in januari wellicht weer open gaan, maar het is allerminst zeker dat Nina dan weer in de schoolbanken kan. Haar ouders hebben niet de middelen om het schoolgeld te betalen en dat zou dramatisch zijn voor Nina’s toekomst. .

Gelukkig is het virus het huis van deze familie vooralsnog voorbij gegaan, maar hun verhaal laat zien dat ebola op veel verschillende manieren levens verwoest en dat er hulp nodig zal blijven, ook als de epidemie voorbij is. .

* Phebe Hospital verloor in de eerste weken na de ebola uitbraak 6 verpleegsters aan het virus. De dokter overleefde ebola en werd door President Obama ontvangen in het Witte Huis. Het ziekenhuis sloot uit angst voor meer besmettingen. Daarmee verdween de reguliere gezondheidszorg volledig uit het district. Vrouwen ontvingen geen prenatale zorg en moesten noodgedwongen thuis bevallen zonder de hulp van een verloskundige. Patienten met andere ziektes, zoals malaria, ontvingen geen medische zorg, waardoor het sterftecijfer steeg. Save the Children bouwde, op verzoek van de lokale overheid, een ebola behandelcentrum (EBC). Deze wordt gerund door het IMC. Twee dagen nadat het EBC in gebruik werd genomen, kon Phebe Hospital weer open voor de reguliere gezondheidszorg. .

as you can tell I haven't been posting pictures at all basically.
a few reasons include--
*my camera was being a total douche, so i bought this new cheap little kodak.
*i haven't been creative at all.
*summer drains me. i hate the heat.
*my boyfriend recently left for basic training so i was spending my life with him instead of alone with a camera.
but now he's gone.
& this little monkey is what my little monkey gave me to cuddle with at night.
(he's not as great in the sack as him, but he's just about as furry.)

Sometimes no matter what you do you just can’t get these pools to sit perfectly level. These composite wood shims are used to level the coping to compensate for that problem. You put the shims under the coping as needed so that the coping is level and matches the waterline, giving you a level finished product and
a much nicer appearance.

The visit to Clovelly Village in North Devon.
Clovelly (/kləˈvɛli/) is a harbour village in the Torridge district of Devon, England. Its steep pedestrianised cobbled main street, traditional architecture, donkeys and views over the Bristol Channel attract numerous tourists. At the 2011 census, the parish population was 443, which was 50 fewer than ten years previously. The ward of Clovelly Bay includes the island of Lundy.
An entrance fee is charged to enter the village via a village visitor centre which also charges for parking, entrance to two museums, Clovelly Court gardens, and an audiovisual history guide.
The South West Coast Path National Trail runs from the top of the village. The village is privately owned, by John Rous as of March 2021; he inherited in 1983. The village "has mainly been in the Hamlyn family since 1738", and he is of that line.

Lifeboat house with slipway. Circa 1870. Coursed rubble house for lifeboat with
freestone dressings, slate gabled roof with coped verges and copings to parapets at
sides, slipway of large roughly-hewn rubble blocks.
Plan: lifeboat house rectangular on plan with large door opening in gable end
facing seaward, from this doorway an inclined slipway leads down into the harbour,
the whole showing above the waterline at low tide.
Exterior: to the seaward side of the boathouse a pair of C20 iron-clad sliding
doors on runners, the original opening altered to the present form to accommodate a
larger lifeboat. Above in the gable face a bullseye window of 4-panes with a
central roundel.
Interior: not inspected.
The building no longer holds the present lifeboat, it is moored out in Bideford Bay.

The Maryland Freestate ChalleNGe Academy graduates nearly 90 cadets from class #42 on June 14, 2014, at Aberdeen Proving Ground. The cadets successfully completed more than 5 months of rigorous residential instruction. Cadets were recognized with awards and scholarships this week in a separate ceremony. The National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program, a preventive rather than remedial "youth at risk" program, is directed at unemployed, drug-free, high school dropouts, 16-18 years of age. Core components of the program are citizenship, academic excellence (GED/High School diploma), life-coping skills, service to community, health and hygiene, job skills training, leadership, and physical training.
