On Friday, February 7, 2014, high school and middle school students dashed into the icy Atlantic as part of Special Olympics Virginia’s largest fundraiser: The Polar Plunge and the Cool School Challenge.
“Raising one million dollars for the fourth year in a row is incredible,” said Rick Jeffrey, Special Olympics Virginia president. “More importantly, though, these funds will help us to build bigger, better, more inclusive communities across the state of Virginia.”
In addition to the money raised, they got to take the icy dip into the Atlantic, all while earning a Friday “pass” from school, earn community service credit, Costume contests – prizes for best dressed male and female, prizes for teacher or team sponsor, and freezing photos.

I am guessing on the date--my father is on the left with a pipe, probably at the ripe old age of 18--on the reverse is written, "Uncle Sam was glad to get rid of the one on the right". Either my father was joking with his remark, or the GI with shades was a bit of a hellraiser
This guy was great. He played as much with those toes as with his fingers. Emerge - ATX Graffiti Art Show at Spider House.

We bought a new PC, because the old one died on us. This is the CPU cool fan of the old PC, backlit with a flash at 1/64th, triggered with an on-camera flash at 1/128 bounced of the wall (camera right).

In case you didn't know, it's been pretty hot in NYC lately. The day this was taken I think the temp hit the high 90s. Don't worry, we didn't take Zucco out for long especially since he has a heart condition these days. This was his potty break and was about a block and a half away from us. We took him to a bus shelter in a shady area to give him some water to cool him off. The minute he sat on the bench, he stuck his butt out and pressed it against the cool metal/glass. Still not as good as air conditioning but it helped for a brief moment.
After soldering, let the component cool for a few seconds before letting it go. You might also want to trim off any sharp edges remaining; there are several here.
This is part of a DIY "solder your own wine charms" project; read more about it here.

The schematics of a water-cooled air conditioning system as applied in many commercial buildings. The cooling tower cools the condenser so that the chiller can generate cold water with lowest possible compressor effort. Smart cooling tower design and continuous condenser tube cleaning help minimizing electricity cost. www.watco-group.co/
