Cool Globes in Battery Park: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet, is a public art exhibition designed to raise awareness of solutions to climate change. Cool Globes grew out of a commitment at the Clinton Global Initiative in 2005, and was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2006.

When in Italy with good friends on a balmy Sunday afternoon I'd definitely recommend an al fresco lunch, accompanied by a glass of something chilled and suitably celebratory, to keep you cool (the mercury hit 35C (95F), which isn't too bad after daily highs of 46C+ back home, although the the humidity makes it seem hotter).
Thank you in advance for any comments and/or favorites, as they are always appreciated. I'm traveling at the moment so I won't be able to reciprocate beyond the odd favourite/brief comment, but hope to catch up with all things photographic and Flickr soon.
Cromwell we woke to a lovely cool morning April 28, 2016 Central Otago in the South Island of New Zealand.
Located deep in the heart of Central Otago in the valley of Upper Clutha, Cromwell is a special place not to be missed. From rugged to rolling hills, two great rivers and the sparking pristine waters of Lake Dunstan - the natural beauty of the area is overwhelming.
The Cromwell basin is home to a host of award-winning wineries; enjoy the scenery while enjoying some the worlds finest Central Otago Pinot Noir. The area also has a rich heritage past with remnants of goldfields that will take you on a journey of the past. Be sure to take a wander down to the historic Cromwell Heritage Precinct for a selection of boutique shops, art galleries and cosy cafes.
Situated on the shore of Lake Dunstan it is an idyllic location for swimming, fishing, boating and water sports in summer. In winter, there are five fantastic skifields all within comfortable driving distances. It is also home to the famous Highland's Motorsport Park, a popular visitor attraction with activities for the whole family.
Cromwell's central location makes it an excellent base for exploring the wider Central Otago area, allowing for easy day trips to nearby towns such as Queenstown, Arrowtown, Wanaka and Clyde.

Shizandra was resting after we played ball with her in the backyard. It's been a while since we've done that. The last time the Hot Air Balloon flew over the house it terrified her and she refused to stay outside. Every time we took her out she'd keep looking up in the sky. She doesn't forget these things.
This is a photo that a friend of mine took about 6 years ago, when Ozzy was pretty new to us. The photo has been on the side of the refrigerator and has been damaged, so I patched it just a little - you can still get the idea. These were 3" doll sunglasses. He didn't seem to mind that much!

Opening the fan and showing it was equivalent to: “you can wait for me”.
Holding it with both hands advised a cruel “you better forget me”.
If a woman dropped her fan in front of a man, the passionate message was "I belong to you".
If she supported him open on her chest at the level of the heart: "I love you."
If she covered her face with the open fan: "Follow me when I go."

Un abanico de mano es un instrumento y un complemento de moda ideado para que con un juego de muñeca rítmico y variable se pueda mover aire y facilitar la refrigeración cuando se está en un ambiente caluroso.
HISTORIA: La umbela o quitasol y el flabellum, gran abanico fijo de largo mango, se consideran precedentes en Egipto —al menos desde la dinastía XIX— y en Asia del modesto y funcional abanico plegable y sus variantes occidentales.
Ya en la tumba de Tutankamón se depositaron, como parte del ajuar del faraón, dos abanicos con mango de metales preciosos.
Objeto esencial en las culturas china y japonesa, tanto en ceremonias como en el teatro, que sintetiza la fantasía de estos pueblos en los diferentes tipos de abanico.
