Most people notice these giants as they drive by on the A453 or as they pass through Parkway Station. Here is the alternative view, taken inside one of the giant towers at Ratcliffe on Soar Power Station.

Christmas Day 2023. In Sweden we celebrated the day before, with presents and a lot of good food. The day after, a good exercise was needed, so we took a stroll to the sea. The walk was beautiful, in spite of the heavy clous lid that towered over the landscape. The sea was calm and we had a very nice view from the shore.

More images will follow.

PS. The keen eye will notice that I have been here with my camera before... ;-)

Soom Frog Prince Toad in Green Tea Resin :)

Some friends and I were in Chinatown today and while they were searching for beads for their jewelry making I was taking some photos of textures for my photos.... and down this side alley was this ridiculously large COOL sign.... the wall was really green I just boosted it a bit in PS. Got some great texture shots too :)

One of the photographs of a luxury villa I was commissioned to shoot on the island of Samui.

A very hot day in the central valley of California. The best place to hide from the heat is under a water umbrella. Grand kids are fun...

Rescued from a rather sad Agfachrome, so a bit soft and grainy.

Getting decent smoke effects on the sub-continent was never easy, but Vulcan Foundry built light XA class Pacific was happy to oblige as it departed Kundian, Pakistan, on the morning of 29 November 1978 with Train 190 to Attock City.

The XA class light Pacifics were one of the Indian Railway Standard (IRS) designs that emerged from 1927 onwards and 113 were built by Vulcan Foundry (VF) in the UK between 1929 and 1935.

Upon Partition, 37 of the class went to Pakistan and the remainder stayed in India. By 1978 only a handful were left in service in India, but in Pakistan they could still be seen in daily use on long distance passenger trains.

Cool girls don't need shoes!

I saw her waiting at an bus stop. Later I asked her why she was wearing only tights - she told me she had only one pair of rather flimsy shoes and often enjoys to go out just wearing her tights - so why not in the rain...?

My Internet connection is still on but not sure for how long! To make matters worse I have some really bad back pain, which gets quite horrible at night so try not to spend too much sitting at a computer! All this means I will not have too much time to give you all the faves and comments I would like to!

Will try to catch up when back in Uk and feeling better.

In the meantime some more Lightroom production (the originala are violet!) - not sure what the result will be on soem screens as no calibration yet :(

Have a great weekend and see your great photos soon! :))

This was taken at the same location as my “Everywhere” shot. If you look at the front of the house where the shrubs have gone wild, that is right in front of the breezeway (or dogtrot) . I was about to walk by because I couldn’t even see the front of the breezeway but decided to push the shrubs apart for a look, I thought ..wow that would make a cool HDR shot, but there is no where to set up.

Here is what I have to do with my little camera to get bracket shots.

Push a button to get me to exposures, make my choice, select. Then most times pick timer for 2 seconds. then take the shot.

I skipped the timer for this.

So I had to repeat that process 3 times, while holding my tripod out at a angle through the bushes stretching to reach all my little buttons, while trying to keep the frame the same.

I walked away thinking, I bet that didn’t work.

So….when I got home and checked those shots out I thought “hey, this might work” I loaded them in photomatix and waited.

And this is what I got.

I am proud of this one. Hope ya’ll like it.

And thanks everybody for your great comments on all my little pics.

And thanks for the Favs too.

It really means a lot to me.

CC Most Versatile - Sunglasses

CC Rainbow Game - Purple

You may think this was an easy shot. Not quite. My first attempts were with my pooch in a "Sit" position. As soon as I put the sunglasses on her she would shake them off or look down and they would fall off. I then had her go to a "Down" position which kept her a little more still. After a few attempts the sunglasses stayed on long enough for me to catch this image. The blurry tongue is her contribution to this picture. The things dogs will do for their photography moms and dads.

Uchimizu (打ち水) means sprinkling water in front of one’s own house or store. It not only keeps down dust but also cools down the temperature through the effect of heat vaporization during the hot summer.
