I don't know. It was a stupid choice for a title. I thought the central figure was pretty cool and just went with it.

Golden hour at the cool landscape of Vareid @ Lofoten.

What a cool scene I sensed here as I turned the corner first. As always, the people were helpful and so very nice. Many are rather curious, or let's put it this way, they pretend to be curious. (¬‿¬)

The composition was already clear to me, as I had already been here the day before and was able to memorize my position well. This photo is perhaps a little more sombre, but on closer inspection, the joy and colors here have by no means disappeared. Because these details, joy and color will always be part of my photos.

I love her art Hania Rani so young and so talented. The song Glass the video ♫ was recorded in Berlin and many sequences were shot in the district where I grew up. Speaking of Berlin, I may soon have something completely new from Berlin in terms of photography. But will that be something for Flickr? I'm not sure yet. Anyway, I won't have much time to share photos anytime soon, but I'll try to keep an eye on your excellent work.

Toronto Orchid Show.

It was interesting for me to discover existence of some kind of 'in fashion' trend on an orchid show over the years. If previous years there were a lot of Phalaenopsis species showcased, lately they have been giving way to all kinds of Lady Slippers. Here is one of them.

Quite hot by Scottish standards these last couple of days, so a roadside puddle was a welcome relief

Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. All comments and Faves are very much appreciated

One of the amazing places we came across while in Louisville earlier this month. We knocked and knocked and called but no one was there. I did read where none of this is for sale but golly gosh I would have loved to meet the man who has this collection All the photos embedded in the comments are public if you would like to check them out in more detail.

Making the most of some warm June sunshine.

This moth has been hanging around for a few days. I’ve taken many shots of this moth and chose this one here. I’m trying to look it up with several ID references and I guess I haven’t searched enough.

I hope everybody enjoys this and would love to know if anyone have seen this and happy to receive any feedback.

Norfolk and Western Class J 4-8-4 #611 (Roanoke Shops 1950) is eastbound on Norfolk Southern's S Line headed from Spencer to Old Fort and Asheville via the famed 'Southern Loops.' She is approaching the diamond at Barber Junction MP S11.5 on the line from Salisbury to Asheville and MP L39.4 on the line from Winston-Salem to Charlotte they are will cross. What is now the S Line was built through here around 1858 by the Western North Carolina Railroad Company but didn't reach the Asheville area until 1879. After three bankruptcies the company finally entered the Southern Railway fold in 1894. Meanwhile the modern day L Line dates from 1898 when the Southern Railway extended the shortline North Carolina Midland Railroad (that reached as far as Mocksville from Winston-Salem and that they had acquired in 1894) 54 miles south to Mooresville.

This train was billed as 'The Blue Ridge Special' and was making a more than 300 mile round trip as NS train 957 on what was day two of the 2016 excursion season on NS...back when that was a thing. The air was cool and clear and made for some impressive steam and smoke shows all along the way.
