A brief shower gave a little but welcome relief to my very hot garden, this morning. Each petal of the Dahlia looks like a little tongue coming out to drink the raindrops :) /

This spot was very funky and cool, and while this pic is a bit grainy and blurry, I still like it....Thanks to Sean for ortanizing it ....anyway, I'd like to do some more unconventional portraits along these lines.... :-)

St. Augustine Lighthouse is located on the north end of Anastasia Island in Saint Augustine, Florida. Built in 1874 of brick, the Saint Augustine Lighthouse is 163 feet high making it the eighth tallest lighthouse in the United States today. Saint Augustine Lighthouse is run by the non-profit St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum Inc. and is open to the public and visitors can climb the 219 steps to the top for great views from this fun tourist attraction in Northeast Florida.

I seem to be drawn to negative space at the moment. I was trying out possible subjects for this Friday's 'Cylindrical' challenge, but then realised this weight was only partly cylindrical. On the other hand, I rather like the weight, so here it is. I found it recently in a local shop and the only thing I know about it is that it's German. I've had the 2 weights in the background for years and often use them for holding down paper bases in macro images to make the paper lie flat.

I stopped by Wright-Locke Farm today to give the goats some old bananas, given to me by a convenience store. We had a snowstorm last night, dropping six inches or so.
A mushroom, or toadstool, is the fleshy, spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus, typically produced above ground, on soil, or on its food source. Two images of Over Owler Tor taken a in different conditions. The warm-toned image was taken just after sunset on a fine day and the cool-toned image was taken at sunset on a cloudy day. Both images were taken from Higger Tor but, as can be seen from the different position of elements on the horizon, from slightly different places.
