Made for a friend who was hosting a 'stella & dot' home party.
The colouring is a little off in the photo - the blue colour is more tealy green in real life. The designs matched the boxes and packaging of 'stella & dot'.
These were made very quickly and late last night...... not as much attention to detail as I should have given them. I'm hoping the ladies will all be drinking too much wine to notice they're not perfect!! :)
Fairytale carriage cookie for my daughter's niece's birthday. October's been full of birthday and baby shower cookies - not many Halloween cookies this year.
Some cookies I made for a coworker who was heading out to see Jimmy Buffett last weekend.
The Margaritaville cookie and salt shaker are 100% Callye's (sweetsugarbelle). Thanks for saving my butt yet again ;)

I don't usually stray too far from my standard cookie recipes (chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin), but I made this recipe the other day because I was craving cookies and I happened to have all of the ingredients on hand. They were GOOD. Really, really good. Possibly my new favorite cookie of all time, even. They're soft, a little cake-y, and really chocolatey (sort of like eating a brownie in cookie form).
2 cups all purpose flour
¾ cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 ¼ cups (2 sticks plus 4 tablespoons) unsalted butter, room temp. (don't microwave!)
2 cups sugar, plus more for dipping
2 large eggs
2 tsps vanilla extract
1. Mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
2. Beat butter, sugar, and eggs on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
3. Add vanilla, mix to combine.
4. Gradually add flour mixture, and combine on low speed.
5. Chill until firm, about 1 hour.
6. Heat oven to 350.
7. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Dip top of each ball into sugar. Place on baking sheets about 1 ½ inches apart.
8. Bake until set, about 8 minutes.
9. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.
Makes about 45, or just short of three cookie-sheets worth.
I found that baking them for exactly 8 minutes in a properly pre-heated oven yielded perfect cookies. They were very soft and prone to falling apart while they were still hot, but once they cooled the texture was just right. Yum, looking at this picture makes me want to make these again right now... they only lasted about 2 days in my house, mostly since I was eating three for breakfast and three with every meal and three more as a bedtime snack.
This is my first entry to SLW. And as was explained shooting beverages is hard!
I used the sunlight coming through the windows and there are obviously shadows. But I think it adds to the "wholesomeness" of the setting.
I was hoping to convey that afternoon snack of good ol' milk and cookies, using the jug of milk as my centre piece.
(I hope this qualifies...I can remove it if it doesn't).
I'm happy to hear feedback and suggestions.
I'll try to keep this story brief. I'm shipping these out to a man in West Virginia. While my husband and I were on vacation in Florida, my daughter's car broke down in West Virginia. We were 14 hours away from her. She was lucky enough to break down in front of Mr. Jarrell's house, who noticed the military stickers on my daughters car. Being retired navy, he of course wanted to help her out.
The transmission in her car was blown out. Being an old car, it just wasn't worth fixing. So Tessa's friends drove down to get her, bringing the title to her car. She signed it over to Mr. Jarrell, and he took car of bringing it to the junk yard, selling her new tires, and mailing her the money. He also let her stay at his house while she was waiting for her ride.
I can sometimes be a little pessimistic, but it's so nice to know that good, honest people are still out there!!!!!!

So, I made these 2 cookies to send to my sister and brother-in-law for their bdays this month. I was going to wait to upload them AFTER they got them..but I'll be shipping them out tomorrow and that will take a few days to get to them, and then I know how often my sis checks her PO box...so they be sitting there until the cows come home. LOL...so she'll probably end up seeing these on here before she checks her mail. oh well. LOL...my inspiration came from the great CookieCrazie who made them over Father's day www.flickr.com/photos/cookiecrazie/3628853134/ oh and i have this same camera...so i just traced the back of mine on card stock, cut it out to use as the template. My sis owns the same camera, so easy to do but very time consuming! ugh!
