One of the rules of sucessful baking (or anything really) is not to try anything new when you're tired.
I thought teacup shaped cookies would be cute for the supper after our bookstudy tonight. I didn't have a teacup shape cutter though so I had to make my own template.
Not awful, but I really should have stuck to something I know I make well!
I had morning tea with my Mum today in a local public garden and took along Cookie because she doesn't get out enough. I'd forgotten how fabulous she is, she is such a cool gal! Thanks to Mum for holding my bag ! :)

Recipe for the best, the milkiest, and the creamiest Cookies and Cream Ice Cream I have ever eaten, right here!
Ordering the two "non"-chocolate options from the menu, I was saddened to find the chewy peanut butter cookie (with the thin caramelized crust) hit chunks of milk chocolate (boo to allergies). The oatmeal cookie was nice, thick, moist, chewy and dotted with plump raisins and chunks of walnuts. When our neighbouring table inquired about them (including the very nice grandpa who asked if the cookie was good), I mentioned that it was very nice as a starter (yes, cookies as a starter??), that it was rather nutritious if you think about it (fruit, oats/fiber, nuts) and that he should try it (he revealed he was eying it on the menu). :P Not sure if my bad influence affected his choice in how he finished his meal. :)
My friend, Heather, frequently hosts "cookie decorating parties" at her house. Today we went over to decorate Easter cookies. These were my favorites of my bunch.
As a new transplant to Philadelphia, lots of things catch my eye. This is a gallery of pix shot on both my regular camera and my cell phone, hopefully all entertaining and with some Philly style...

These are sold at a local bakery, and they taste so much like Greek Cookies called koulourakia. I could eat the whole batch in one sitting.
My favorite are Thin Mints: 4 cookies, 160 calories, 8 grams of fat, 10 grams of sugars, and 135mg of sodium. s831.us/hGFmUF

A sugar cookie base jazzed up with cocoa powder, a white/milk chocolate swirled morsel, and chopped pecans. This makes for a really decadent cookie without being TOO sweet. Needless to say, these were finished baking at around 4:30 PM, and they were gone by 11:45 PM the same night!
