DJ provided step-by-step instruction with the help of images in some of his recipes. Here is one example.
ca. 1944. This is another menu-based cookbook. Everything is planned out for you along with the shopping lists. Although, some of the things might have been impossible to get - like the bananas needed for part of a New Year's menu with "Banana & Cottage Cheese Sandwiches".

Episode 4: We rolled the Chez Panisse Menu Cookbook and were instantly intimidated. With reason. We then rolled the suckling pig recipe. Needless to say, we went up a page and made the ragout instead. Plus, it saved me having to dig a pit in the backyard. ha!
My weakness…. cookbooks! Both these chefs I watch on the Food Network/Cooking Channel even here in Asia. Lots of good recipes to try!

Am very excited about this book. Beautiful design and photography and layout, as expected. Can't wait to try out some of the recipes and, more so, read Adrià's insights on home cooking.

DJ’s cookbook has a well-organized contents. Some are listed by the time of day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, etc. This is a sample image from the breakfast chapter.
All sample images you will see are slightly on the brighter side. DJ requested for that. He found that when Kinkos made the prints, the images seemed darker. Therefore he wanted me to make them a bit brighter.

The cookbook had over 60+ delicious recipes showcasing the multicultural diversity of our District. I conceptualized this project in partnership with the Club's 2007-2008 President, Courtney Eng.
