Lion pair at Kapama Private Game Reserve, South Africa

Here I've converted the machine to being a mill by removing the headstock, attaching the milling column, and attaching the headstock and motor to that column. The table is much smaller than a regular Sherline mill table, which will be annoying later.

Here I'm using a dial test indicator to square up the adorable little screwless vise.

Four repowered Streetdecks have arrived at Hoeford. It's hard to tell which one is which, but using insanely tight lines of sight and process of elimination, I have identified them all.

Left (behind): 71001 CMZ 5301 (previously 35152 SN65 OKD)

Right (infront): 71002 CMZ 5302 (previously 35108 SO15 CUH)

I instantly recognized the distinctive signs that this was a 1963 T-Bird. Like the sign in the window that said '1963 T-Bird'. :)

I grew up with these cars. The chrome was real and the bumpers were steel. If you hit something, whatever you hit would be dented and the bumper would be ready for more. People didn't mind parking lot bumper-to-bumper contact between cars.

The hubcaps were chromed steel. People joked that the three little blades at the centers were inspired by the chariot wheels in Ben-Hur.

When you looked out from the front seats, you saw an acre of hood.

You can see how the top folded back into the trunk. The trunk was big enough to house a small family. The trunk and top actions were motorized. Each one of those motors had more power than some of today's car engines. Efficiency and economy were not on anyone's mind.

The top tube can be unscrewed and can be screwed back to the lower part near the crank to make it a ladies bicycle. Trying to identify it sadly it doesn't have a head badge. Any help would be appreciated.

12.4.2010: the pillar topped by the lion of St. Mark in the piazzetta beside the Doge's palace, Venice. Apparently this is a pre-Christian statue of a chimaera converted for use as the winged lion that symbolises the evangelist Mark.

Lately I've been doing a lot of B&W converions of images from my archive, some of which as in this case, were already in my photostream. That explains the "reposts". I'd love to know how these come across in B&W.
