Infantry for Studwars, my Lego Microscale Wargame

From a photoshoot i made with several character to show off the bodyslide compatibility of my Skyrim body mod. With something called converted outfits, you are able to build the outfits to shape after a body preset, and this is how it looks on our body!

My first time taking out my DIY 720nm infrared converted Finepix F300 EXR. I was curious how the super CCD sensor would handle infrared and I wanted a compact infrared camera. All in all I think it looks great!

A near side veiw of the converted Paramount to 3200 spec, very nicely done, to represent a real Lowland Leyland Tiger.

Once a vibrant commercial building filled with a luxury shop and bustling offices, this building is now owned by a subsidiary of the Octane Corporation. What are they storing in those tanks, and why are so many shady people passing through?

Inspired by my old modular building, "The Lily".

Rock Island 4231 was built by Pullman-Standard in 1945 as a World War II troop sleeper. To save time and materials, the car design was based on an AAR standard 50' boxcar. After the war it was converted for express service — note how the plated over window openings are still visible. Rock Island assigned the car to their streamlined "Rocket" trains and painted it silver to match the rest of the equipment. By the time this photograph was taken in 1968, the best years were obviously behind it.

The car is a WaltersProto model. NAPM member John Decker substituted National B-1 trucks for the Allied Full Cushion trucks that came with the model. He weathered the model following prototype photos, using burnt umber oil paint full-strength on the truck side frames and wheel faces, and a combination of raw and burnt umber dry brushed on the car sides, ends, and roof using a wide, stuff bristled artist's brush.

THE 16TH-CENTURY KINNAIRD CASTLE WAS CONVERTED IN 1787 FOR USE AS THE KINNAIRD HEAD/CASTLE LIGHTHOUSE, THE FIRST LIGHTHOUSE IN SCOTLAND TO BE LIT BY THE COMMISSIONERS OF NORTHERN LIGHTS WHO BUILT MANY MORE ON SCOTLAND'S COASTLINE OVER THE NEXT 200 YEARS OR SO. IT WAS INSTALLED BY A MR THOMAS SMITH FROM EDINBURGH, WHO WAS THE FATHER-IN-LAW OF ROBERT STEVENSON WHO SUCCEEDED HIM AS ENGINEER TO THE NORTHERN LIGHTHOUSE BOARD (ROBERT STEVENSON WAS GRANDFATHER OF THE AUTHOR ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON). A LANTERN WAS SET ON A CORNER OF A TOWER OF THE OLD CASTLE IN FRASERBURGH OWNED BY LORD SALTOUN. THE LIGHTS IN THOSE DAYS WERE FIXED, USING ARRAYS OF LAMPS BURNING WHALE OIL, EACH OF THEM BACKED BY ITS OWN PARABOLIC REFLECTOR MADE UP OF A MULTITUDE OF FACETS OF SILVERED MIRROR-GLASS SET ON A PLASTER MOULD. KINNAIRD HEAD WAS THE MOST POWERFUL LIGHT OF ITS TIME, AND CONTAINED 17 REFLECTORS ARRANGED IN 3 HORIZONTAL TIERS. IN CLEAR WEATHER, THE LIGHT COULD BE SEEN 12 TO 14 MILES AWAY.

THE STRUCTURE WAS REBUILT IN 1824 WHEN INTERNAL ALTERNATIONS WERE MADE TO THE TOWER TO ACCOMMODATE A NEW LANTERN AND ADDITIONAL BUILDINGS WERE CONSTRUCTED FOR THE LIGHTKEEPERS.

DURING WORLD WAR II, FRASERBURGH WAS KNOWN AS "LITTLE LONDON" BECAUSE OF THE HEAVY BOMBING AND MACHINE-GUN ATTACKS ON THE TOWN DUE TO THE AMMUNITIONS MANUFACTURE AND WORK CARRIED OUT ON ROLLS ROYCE AIRCRAFT ENGINES. DESPITE THAT, THE LIGHTHOUSE WAS ONLY SLIGHTLY DAMAGED BY A NEAR MISS.

THE PRESENT LIGHTHOUSE IS A NEW BUILDING CREATED IN 1991 AT THIS STAGE IT WAS AUTOMATED AND THE ORIGINAL BUILDING NOW HOUSES THE MUSEUM OF SCOTTISH LIGHTHOUSES. THIS INCORPORATES THE ORIGINAL LIGHTHOUSE AND A MODERN BUILDING HOUSING COLLECTIONS OF LENSES AND OTHER ARTEFACTS FROM MANY LIGHTHOUSES ACROSS SCOTLAND. IT IS NOW LISTED AS A BUILDING OF ARCHITECTURAL/HISTORICAL INTEREST BY HISTORIC SCOTLAND. THE FOGHORN BESIDE THE NEW LIGHTHOUSE IS NO LONGER OPERATIONAL.

In the add picture the cockpit is in the middle. But on the figure, it only goes back over the motor. Or all the way forward. Which doesn't look right either..

A group of older converts from the natives of Gnadenthal.

Gnadenthal was the first mission station of the Moravian Church in South Africa.

After some 30 or so "test" shots the patience has worn thin. :)

I used this for a personal project to learn basic Photoshop touch-up techniques. The changes are subtle but that was intentional. I converted it to B&W as well.

Following the death in 997 of Géza, Grand Prince of the Hungarians, succession to the throne by his zealous-Christian-convert son Stephen (István) via the medieval European law of primogeniture was challenged by his kinsman Koppány, Duke of Somogy, who claimed succession via the Magyar pagan tradition of seniority. Following Koppány’s execution, Stephen created Hungarian nationhood by forcing the various Magyar tribes to convert to Christianity. Hungary’s First King (Stephen I of Hungary, 997-1038) was thereafter sainted, making him King Saint Stephen (Szent István király). In his left hand is a two-barred apostolic cross, which was a symbol awarded to St. Stephen by the Pope in recognition of his efforts to convert Hungary to Christianity. In Hungarian, it is referred to as the apostolic double cross (Apostoli kettos kereszt).

Wow. I can't believe I ever sewed squares with another technique! Or that the only reason I tried Alicia's technique this time was that some of the squares were on the bias and some were not so I thought the interfacing would keep it all stable. But beyond that, it was SO EASY! The whole sewing of the top (including seam pressing and trimming) took less than an hour and all of my points are perfect (not the norm, let me tell you)!

Now to decide what fabric to use for the border. It will be about 2.5-inches all the way around. (I really like the way another Leila uses borders on her pillows).

As for the sewing room swap, partner, do you think you might like something like this or is it a little too cute for you?

In January 2017, we took our first Royal Caribbean cruise aboard "Anthem of the Seas". Anthem was the newest and largest ship we've ever been on. Like all modern ships, she was built to provide a lot of options for cabins, dining, entertainment, relaxing, and just plain fun things to do.

One highly popular venue was the indoor area called "Sea Plex". The highlite for the area was Bumper Cars which we did try. The area could also be converted for roller skating, basketball, soccer, and flying trapeze. The upper deck had XBox stations, fuzzball, pingpong, etc. There even was a hot dog truck in there serving several different types of hot dogs and sausages.

Painted and converted for a local store competition. The shoulder/forearm armor was sculpted from greenstuff along with the numerous leather straps. The horns have been changed to make them much more imposing, lots of greenstuff and a few additions from the stonehorn sprue also used. The arm positions have been altered and lots of small bits of sculpting here and there. I wanted to play around with hot and cold colours a little whilst not being too obvious. Subtle blues and greens are mixed in to the horns and skulls, along with the verdigris on armor and axes which was achieved with heavily thinned hawk turquoise, then hawk turquoise and skull white. Thanks for looking, I hope you like it :)
