Peek 3000 controller. The cabinet is an Econolight cabinet, and I have the Econolight controller. I just know the operation of this one better. If you look at the screen you'll see that both indications ("INDIC") are red for both phases. It means that essentially, all (two) phases (directions) of traffic are red.
Temperature controller is on the cardboard box, elevated to protect it from any leaks. The temperature sensor is pressed against the outside of the bucket and insulated from the heating element with a piece of bubblewrap.

Here is the 2007 controller. TinCanTools.com hammer board can be seen on the right. Just below that is the AC wave zero crossing curcuit. Everything to the left is 75HC595s driving ULN2803A transistor arrays.
The board was home etched (more on etching later), and that is why it is single sided with the strip board style wiring (green wires).
Above the bug board (only half visible) is the power supply board taking 5V in and giving 5V and 3.3V out.
It's like a Hello Kitty overload. XD Imagine the look on all the boys' faces when I beat them with this controller!

Here, represented in near-zombie form, is the face of quite possibly the coolest video game villain of all time, Metal Gear Solid's Psycho Mantis. This guy was great... he'd read your memory card, then make fun of you for what games you'd been playing. He'd screw with the TV, so it looked like your PlayStation had somehow come unplugged. And it was impossible to hit him unless you unplugged the first controller completely and played with the pad plugged into port 2. That, and he looked cool as all get-out in his gas mask. Horribly, I lost the detachable gas mask accessory in the air vents of my summer home not one month after purchasing it. There it still lies, I'd assume, for a treasure-seeker to discover after the fall of Muncie.
