I was amazed that my dmc-fz5 was able to get this much detail, handheld. One of you must be able to identify the aircraft. I've been seeing a lot of trails in the sky lately. There probably is an ideal temperature and pressure for forming such fluffy clouds. Is it that recent weather at jet flying altitude has been just right? Any meteorologist, or aviation expert, care to enlighten me?

This morning was unique in the sense that the clouds suspended above the contrail with a low to the horizon sun casting a shadow of the contrail onto the higher clouds. I've been waiting to get the chance to shoot similar atmosphere again.
I'm always happy flying back into Santa Barbara. The passengers on the right side of this US Air flight were just treated to a faint rainbow hanging in front of the mountains.
