March 16, 2015: I saw this contrail and thought it looked really intense, so I took out my phone for a quick picture, and I realized that the reason it looked so intense was because there was a contrail shadow emphasizing it.
Contrails at night of a sattelite launch nearby. It took until the next day to find out what caused it.
Evolution of the STS-117 noctilucent contrail as the sun got progressively lower below the horizon as seen from Satellite Beach, Florida. Some of the variations in overall picture brightness are artifacts of the particular exposure settings of the individual images.
The light hitting the contrail of this jet looked kind of cool. It flew over during the Goose Shoot. The photo just doesn't do it justice. Still like the way it came out though.
