Journaling reads, "At just one year old, Aiden is exploring more and more -- especially now that he's walking. Mom can make toys from just about anything. (Take a look at the Crown Royal bag subbing for a hat!) All the pictures of Aiden capture his serious side. Fortunately, we have videos which show his playful and manic sides."

...and then the hatter went out the window...

Monster Theater's "The Canada Show" continues telling the "Story of Canada" with the story of Jaques Cartier's exporations of the St. Lawrence River and the darkside of these exporations, and expoitations, in the skit: "Best Friends (Not!)". The sorry tale of Jaques Cartier kidnapping and exploiting the well established population of what is now Quebec.

Departing the Control Room heading aft.

Continuing to experiment a bit, I found a spot which was hugely contrasty, knowing I'd shoot slow shutter in B/W. The extreme brightness of the road to the left, with the angle of the body side relavtive to the camera created a lovely glow on the metal which faded towards the front panels. Again, I wanted to concentrate on creating more exciting images which are not static, or 'that' usual. The only downside, is that most of the front wheels fall into shadow too soon, so are significantly darker. Trying to work out whether I should try a flash or to or just rely on post.

These shots are pretty much what came out of the camera, bar for one (which I forget) which I overexposed by a stop.

Side note : I've just reformatted my laptop so it's not calibrated. I hope these shots aren't too far off just now.

Continuing to work my way through the large number of lemons shown in my lemon-cranberry tart photo, although the top of yesterday's pre-debate offering looked like a Sicilian pizza, it was really a pan of lemon-apricot-walnut squares incorporating the juice of six whole lemons (pureed with two cups of dried apricots) in addition to the grated peel of one of them. Between the resulting orangeness and the strong flavor that was no longer exactly lemon or exactly apricot, if I hadn't known what it was I would have guessed it was an orange cake.

I am glad for the shifts that have shook us to the core and left us to resettle in different shapes. Perhaps we were too comfortable in false and impermanent forms, and now are forced to re-explore our insides. I like the dark hallways, despite all the messy broken walls, the hanging wires, the fluttering paper of discarded lives. These shadowy vestiges are not beautiful in a glossy and perfected way but are so much more interesting to come upon, to climb through. They are not bathed in warm yellow light, full of polished windows and manicured greenery, they are overcome with private scrawls and decorated with unruly vines. But I like to see the sparkling light burst through these shattered windows, these doors propped precariously in their frames. I like the permeation of the tattered, dirty blinds with light that spreads across grimy walls and illuminates in a way that leaves room for questions, for private musings and secret self-expression. I light the thrill of the shadows sloping down a paint-peeled stairwell; continue this way.

This year, 586 volunteers gave 2,534 hours of service at 21 sites in the area.

Since the event started in 1998, thousands of volunteers have given more than 30,000 hours to organizations that provide much-needed services.

Numbers continue to climb with Q Dot Davis & Friends Tour

Very few artists can capture a network of artists that are willing to perform on a concert tour that hasn’t been approved by a major record label.

After the success of Chance the Rapper, Q Dot Davis has remained inspired to balance the connections between artists, venues, exposure and revenue.

In the past three weeks, the Q Dot Davis & Friends tour featured concerts in Atlanta’s ritzy Ansley Mall area. Another show was in New Orleans as part of the Indie Gras event celebrating All-Star Weekend.

The third leg of the tour found it’s way to Birmingham this weekend at the city and a show Birmingham music gem, The Nick Rocks.

This past weekend, Davis was joined by a list of talented artists from the southeast, including Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana. Bringing their unique flavor and artistry to the Nick Rocks, all of the artists excelled in their respective areas.

Performing on the lineup this weekend were

Multi-talented actor and rapper Brunn Brunn P x Redd Royalty x Vibez x Social Justice Advocate Markus Katwell Cooke x the Christian Kings of Krunk Rapture The Rapper x Cov Raw x Exclusive Video Producer, Ed Hyde x Mr. Pete x 3$E x Conscious rapper Ced Shelton delivered a thought provoking analytical lyrical rap context overlaid by a 90z hip hop beat. Cedd X is definitely ahead of his time musically. Other acts noticed were Dany x Cafe Jones x Jay Larm xTyler Sherbert. Rapper Kenny G surprised fans and took the stage to deliver a rap performance as part of his birthday celebration.
