Один из подъездов был не закрыт. Вот как дом выглядит изнутри. В квартиры меня, естественно, не пустили, зато лестничную клетку посмотреть удалось. Обратите внимание на перила. Они сделаны не так, как мы привыкли видеть, — металлическая решетка с деревянным поручнем. Нет, для дома в стиле конструктивизм такие перила не годятся! Здесь они сделаны скромно и просто — из бетона. Пусть покрашенная «под дерево» полоска вверху никого не вводит в заблуждение. Никакого дерева здесь нет!

Walter Leblanc (Antwerp 1932 - Opzullik 1986) is a Belgian artist. He is one of the most famous kinetic and light artists. Within the network of the Nouvelle Tendance, ZERO, op art and (neo) constructivism, Leblanc gained both national and international recognition. In 1959 Leblanc introduced torsion as a basic element in his work: materials stretched on a monochrome surface. Depending on the displacement of the spectator and the varying incidence of light on the relief, a vibrating, optical effect is created in the eye of the participant. Leblanc wanted to go beyond the traditional concept of the work of art conceived as a surface or an object to be contemplated, by creating an experiential space that requires the active involvement of the viewer through perception and decryption.
Walter Leblanc ( Antwerpen 1932 – Opzullik 1986 ) is een Belgisch kunstenaar. Hij is één van de bekendste kinetische- en lichtkunstenaars. Binnen het netwerk van de Nouvelle Tendance, ZERO, op art en (neo) constructivisme verwierf Leblanc zowel nationale als internationale erkenning. In 1959 introduceerde Leblanc de torsie als basiselement in zijn werk: materialen gespannen op een monochroom oppervlak. Afhankelijk van de verplaatsing van de toeschouwer en de wisselende lichtinval op het reliëf, ontstaat in het oog van de participant een vibrerend, optisch effect. Leblanc wilde verder gaan dan het traditionele concept van het kunstwerk dat wordt opgevat als een oppervlak of een object om te beschouwen, door een ervaringsruimte te creëren die de actieve betrokkenheid van de kijker vereist bij middel van waarneming en ontcijfering.

Au sein du réseau Nouvelle Tendance, ZERO, op art et (néo) constructivisme, Leblanc a acquis une reconnaissance nationale et internationale. En 1959, Leblanc introduit la torsion comme élément de base de son travail: des matériaux étirés sur une surface monochrome. En fonction du mouvement du spectateur et de l'incidence variable de la lumière sur le relief, un effet optique vibrant se crée dans l'œil du participant. Leblanc a voulu aller au-delà du concept traditionnel de l'œuvre d'art conçue comme une surface ou un objet à contempler, en créant un espace expérientiel qui nécessite l'implication active du spectateur par la perception et le décryptage.
