Madagascar construction worker

Being a son of a female construction worker, is it possible for him to visit the Dream lands created by and for the Money Monsters? Or is he even aware of the existence of those dream lands?

Still he pours some muddy water over rusty pieces of steel and smiles brighter than the Dream land dwellers. This is happiness. You can't buy it with Money.

Caught unprepared for Halloween again, so one raiding trip into to my bosses emergency preparedness kit = instant costume. As the girls say, accessorize!

Safety measures are almost non-existent in construction industry. Not even a helmet is worn by these men. They don't even care about safety. It's all about getting the job done and get paid.

Can it be bravery ? Or is it the primal urge to survive through intense risk?

These are two different sites, one to the north of my work, the other to the south. As I am a drafter, I'm fascinated by construction work, even if I hate that Vancouver is changing so much.

Construction of the RCA Building, New York City. 1932.

I guess I want to break my sunrise daily posting, although I have a lovely one this morning, might post it tonight, to share this quite unusual (to me) shots. Love the play of colors in these three series.

Yes, everywhere you see are constructions of more Condominiums especially in the Lakefront area.

One last major project for the year involved adding new maintenance free fascia and soffits to the house. Having some handsome young construction workers doing the job was a side bonus!

This guy looks like he knows how to get things done. I bet he could install my ceiling fan.

Carrying cement bags weighing 50 kg all alone is not an easy task. Taking frequent little breaks is inevitable.

Sad part is, for this insane toiling throughout the day the payment is only about 6-7 $ per head. Not fair at all.

The demolition for the 6th Street Bridge took place Superbowl weekend without incident. The first stage of the nine-month long demolition was to dismantle the 200 foot long section spanning over the 101 FWY. Crews worked around the clock beginning late on Friday evening, and reopening the 101 on Sunday morning.

one thing about where I'm working is that I can watch lots of construction happening. my boss calls it "the Engineer's Soap Opera"!

The image on the left is of some LEGO people painted on the front window of a local daycare center. On the right is the only bit of graffiti I came across while driving through the alleys downtown.

We met by the tap - he was in cleaning mode, equipped with a new mop. The wrinkles around his eyes have seen many smiles, I have no doubt, even though life for construction workers in Shanghai is no laughing matter. A brilliant smile, a blue T-shirt and energy beautify his being.
